January 2014 Broward College

Published

Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.

We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?

Don't be shy. Don't lurk. Share your thoughts.

I want to take the OSHA/TB online but it is not showing on the continuing education list. Is there another way I can take it online via D2L?

Ok for those that don't want to sit for hours in a class, you can take it online. I got ALL certificates online and I printed them out. As long as the certificates have a FL BON # they'll accept it. And no, I did not take 2, 4, or 6 hours for the online class. Took me all of 1.5 hours. Pass. Print. Go about my day. :)[/quote']

Did you do them through BC or one of the websites you recommended?

Did you try to add it by putting in the HSC course number: HSC0522? Sorry if this is a dumb question, just trying to figure out what's causing the problem.

I went on CEUfast.com, and wanted to know what I should choose under Course Categories? Once I select which one it is, how would l be able to make sure that it has the FL BON #? The only course I need to take is the OSHA/TB, and I really don't want to sit in for that. Thanks.

This is my first time registering for a course at BC so I trying to figure what D2L is and how I can take the course online rather then sit in for it. I went on the CE and I don't see it being offered online so, I guess its not being offered...

I'm not sure about how to register for courses on CEUfast.com. But on BC's website, you can log into your myBC account, click on the registration link, then click on add/ drop link, select the term and then put in the course code: HSC0522, the very last class is the online class and as soon as you register and pay for the course, you'll have access to it in 24-48 hours.

Hopefully this helps.

Okay, I'll try it out. Thanks.

The HSC0255 (Tuberculosis/Osha/Hepatitis) is a 6 credit hour course at BC, but when I went on CEUfast.com it was broken into each individual course of it own hours. The total hours all together is 5 hours. Would the -1 hour cause an issue?

I have a quick question I am not doing too well in A&P1. My professor advise me not to drop the class with a W just change Credit to Audit. Would I still have a chance in to nursing school? Would it affect me when applying? What is the different between not getting a W and getting a class Audit?

I took both of my A&P's 2x with a failing grade on my transcript. The 2nd time I got All A's and B's. Do you have financial aid?

This is my situation as well. There's also one course Prevention of Medical Errors, that's not available until early December and I'm quite sure we'd have to have everything turned in by then. So I'm just going to use 1 of the 2 sites that Butterfly6890 recommended.

Go to CEUFast.com $29.95 for the year includes all the CEU's you need expect CPR. Plus theyre all online.

I am taking it at south campus. Thanks so much I feel much better lol.

I do have financial aid but not much. Most of the time I have to cover the remaining balance of my tuition.
