January 2014 Broward College

Published

Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.

We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?

Don't be shy. Don't lurk. Share your thoughts.

So glad you asked this because I was wondering the same thing.

You can do them online at CEbroker.com or CEUFast.com. You have to pay but you'll need this anyway for your CE credits to be counted.

I agree.

Just trying to help. Congrats on the acceptance!

I have a quick question I am not doing too well in A&P1. My professor advise me not to drop the class with a W just change Credit to Audit. Would I still have a chance in to nursing school? Would it affect me when applying? What is the different between not getting a W and getting a class Audit?

Thank you!

@Reynaldo no it won't at all. I repeated A&P lab 2 first I got an "F" with professor I.K. @ north campus (we're not allowed to put names) I repeated & got an A. Sometime it's the teacher that sucks like mine did. That was my only F in college. Therefore you will be fine audit the class it's better than getting a W. Who is your professor & what campus are you at?

i only have my cpr completed. I registered for the rest of them at broward and will have them completed within the next month
This is my situation as well. There's also one course Prevention of Medical Errors, that's not available until early December and I'm quite sure we'd have to have everything turned in by then. So I'm just going to use 1 of the 2 sites that Butterfly6890 recommended.

You're only allowed two W's for your science courses and changing from a credit course to an audit, is basically like you're auditioning/ interviewing the professor to see if you'll succeed in his/ her class, at least this is how it was explained to me. If I were you I'd take that instructor's advice to prevent any W's from being recorded on my transcript. Although you'll still have a chance at getting into nursing school either way. Just don't exceed 2 W's in your science courses.

No actually prevention of medical errors is available all the time the dates posted on registration is WRONG once you register for it,it should be available online (48hrs) Just read the description of the courses when you sign up.. It should say this course is ALWAYS available. Don't worry I thought the course wasn't available until December as well lol.

Ok, for those that don't want to sit for hours in a class, you can take it online. I got ALL certificates online and I printed them out. As long as the certificates have a FL BON # they'll accept it. And no, I did not take 2, 4, or 6 hours for the online class. Took me all of 1.5 hours. Pass. Print. Go about my day. :)
