Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.
We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?

Thank you ? I'm hoping to attend north campus in January. I'm finishing anatomy 1 and bought a hesi prep book. I haven't started studying for it yet, but will take practice tests to help me prepare!

Hi there! I'm starting the program in August and so excited! We are still waiting to go to our orientation/information meeting and the wait is making me so anxious!
It took me more than one application to get into the program - especially with all of the changing requirements lately. My advice - don't give up! That was my preparation. Fortunately for me, adding micro and dropping chem as a pre-req really helped my GPA to get in. I didn't feel like the HESI was all that difficult personally, but my I was fresh out of my A&P classes and it was still the hardest section for me. Take practice tests to find out your strengths and weaknesses so you know what to study.
Broward was my first choice, but after I didn't get in the first time I applied and was accepted at Keiser. I really didn't want to pay their tuition difference, so I differed my seat to try applying at Broward one last time. Glad I did!
Good luck to you all!
Hey everyone, I just turned in my application yesterday for August 2013 and took a chance because I DO NOT have Micro...the advisor in Pines center told me that it was not needed for August, well she was very wrong. Central campus denied me within less than 24 hours because of the micro. I already registered for it for Fall at central on Tuesdays and Thursdays ( any fellow classmates?) My original plan was to go to Nova and do their entry level BSN program for January 2014. I got my classes paid for in Fall at BC so I am taking the classes that both Nova and BC need and then decide which one to go to. I am still applying for Nova before OCT 1 so that i know I have options. I have a 3.75 pre-req GPA but an 81% on the HESI ...so I took a stab in the dark and applied. Anyone else applying to Nova and BC ?

Can't wait to start Micro I heard it can be intense! I have AK at north. The professor has good ratings so I will see.
