Psych nurse action figure ?
Ummmm, errrr, uhhhhh, the take the other half comment wasn't a reference to the left side of the brain. Look at my avatar, think back to high school, channel your inner timothy leary and put on any dark star-drums-space-drums-dark star-miracle from '71 through '74.
"Too much of everything is just enough". 😎
Distraction is an Intervention Technique often used in Psych Nursing in order to deal with Patients who are, for example, Unruly or Obsessed. The Intervention is an attempt to get the Patient focused upon Another subject, preferably More Positive.
If a Patient does not need an Intervention such as Distraction, we allow Sleeping Dogs to Lie, so to speak, Monitor them, and continue Implementing the Therapeutic Treatment Regime.
This Concept of Distraction is Illustrated in the Cartoons below. The First was taken from a Mag some years ago. The Caption's Question was Poignant, but the Illustration did not Convey the Intensity of the Question or a Need for Distraction from what the Characters were doing.
I thought, "In what Sort of Circumstance would One need Another to be Distracted and Take Pause in order to Consider such a Poignant Question?"
So far I see three things: Jacket restraint, no siderails, and shoelaces still in those gigantic sneakers under the bed. Can't concentrate on the photo enough to pick out 4,5,& 6, as I have to go to work now....
Oh Shoot! Excellent Job, though, No Stars! Well, we'll wait until all Our Friends have a Chance to Play before we Continue the Game!
So, for right now, let's watch ANOTHER Episode of "The Time Tunnel"!
What IS direction, NSIME? And who are we to judge? Hmmm?
You tryin' to psych me out or somethin'?
Jiminy Crickets, all I meant was if the patient suddenly decided to lay back and stretch out, his/her head would hit the metal foot-board. The pillow IS at the other end of the bed.
P.S: "Direction" is always everywhere, it's what you DO with it that matters.
