Jacksonville FL area wage base

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi everyone, My wife and I are planning a move to the SE Georgia, NE Florida area in about a year. I am pretty familiar with the area, having spent 13 years of a Navy career in the StMarys GA area. I would like to get a ballpark figure for the wage base in the area, and ANY help is greatly appreciated. A little background: I am an RN with a BSN and have about 2 yrs experience in ER nursing and had a TNCC certification along with the standard ACLS and PALS. I have 4 years experience in acute Psych and am currently in that field and hold my Psych/ Mental Health specialty certification. I also have some (too little to mention) ICU experience (maybe 20-30 agency shifts). I would like to stay in the Psych field but am open to anything. THANX EVERYBODY!!:yeah:

Not sure what they pay with experience, but the pay is around $21 - $23/hr plus shift diffs. That is for nurses with no exp or with the golden 1 yr. You can try NAS JAX, they are hiring and I think the starting rate is a GS-7 for a BSN with experience. ADNs can't afford to go GS...they pay the equivalent of an LPN....so BSN is a better starting place.

Specializes in Vents, Telemetry, Home Care, Home infusion.
Specializes in Peds Hem, Onc, Med/Surg.

I don't know what the pay with experience is but both Baptist and Brooks start off at $19.25.

The better thing about Fl vs GA is no state tax... does help a little..

Specializes in COS-C, Risk Management.

With psych certification, you may fare better in home health.
