Creating this thread because no one has yet!!! But with that being said, here's a little bit about myself. I live in Dallas currently but will be moving to Indiana in a few months to attend IvyTech for their ASN program. I have one son and I'm very proud of him! This is why I'm going to nursing school to ensure I can take care of him. I haven't taken my TEAS test but I will soon. Who else has taken their TEAS test? What campuses are you applying to? What points do you or will you have once your finished with everything? I'll be happy to see everyone's responses and I look forward to being on this nursing journey with you all.
I've met plenty of nurses who have horrible bedside mannor, no one likes working with them and they can drag a floor unit/team down.....and I've met nurses who are in it because it "pays well", opposite side is that there are many many amazing nurses as well. Tests don't show everything in paramedic school our instructor always said he would rather work with someone street smart than book smart. There really should be a better balance for assessing potential students.
I applied to a few Lpn and one Asn program before the deadline of April 1st. I wish I would have had a better score but I I'm hopeful for at least one acceptance letter. It would drastically change the life of my children and myself. I am always so busy but I do the best I can and want better for my family! Anyone else out there waiting??
Applied to lawrence, anderson & new castle RN & LPN programs with a 120/160.. hopefully that gets me in somewhere sucks because my TEAS could have been better. Goodluck

This is very true, I completely agree. Speaking a little more on my rant I have 2 Aunts, and a cousin who got their nursing without having to take a test to get into the program. They went, signed up, and began their nursing degree. My aunt often says "If they are made to be a nurse they will make it, because school alone is tough."
I am just stating I wish they would take into account that a test, with no nursing questions, should be the deciding factor on if you should pursue this career or not.
