Stay possitive, scores all depend on how many applicants apply to each campus. We've said it before and it's worth repeating, scores don't indicate if you will be a good nurse. Often then indicate more the value of the schools investments in potential students but in my paramedic classes I had a professor that always said...I'd rather have someone streetsmart than booksmart. There is a lot of untestable ales in potential nursing students, so we just do our best aND keep pushing forward.

Which campus are you referring to, I'll hopefully be at Bloomington. I thought they had hunter green scrub bottoms, and white scrub top with Ivy Tech logo.

Typically in the past anything lower than 134 won't get you into the fall RN program. 120-130 may get you into the fall LPN program. The spring cohorts typically accept lower scores only because less applicants apply.

How about things like a stethoscope, pulse oxcemeter, lab coat,..... can we buy hunter green scrubs outside of the bookstore?

Anyone know if a showing list for the first aemester....something we can, in hopes of being accepted, start pricing out? I won't buy anything without the letter but with 4 kids, I need to keep things on a budget here. :)

I'm waiting too, I only applied to Bloomington, because I don't have the option to travel far.I applied with all A's and a 88% on the TEAS so my total score was 148/160. I wish I had something to do to distract me but prepare for the fall. I am working on looking for any immunization records, since upon acceptance those will are needed...it's something to do. This is a looookng wait.....being patient will be hard. Countdown to May 30th has began.

I just finished my TEAS.... can't say it was easy. I have an A in ANPY 101 and 102, A in Psychology and English. 88% on the TEAS exam today. So 148/160 will be the score with my application. I am only applying to Bloomington since I have 4 kids that really don't need both of their parents working an hour from home...so not a lot of options here. I spoke with the Nursing office, last Fall the highest application score was 153, a rare score. 136-153 were the scores for the first 40 seats offered, 15 declined and went to other schools. The next 14 dropped the range to 128. Then the LPN program took scores down to 120. This is a good ballpark to consider with the Bloomington campus. Good luck to everyone applying....that due date is almost here. For those that do make it in, the orientation will be around the 1st or 2nd week of July. June 1st is when letters will go out once they have all of the submitted grades turned in from the spring semester....it couldn't come fast enough, the waiting game will be painfull.

I've met plenty of nurses who have horrible bedside mannor, no one likes working with them and they can drag a floor unit/team down.....and I've met nurses who are in it because it "pays well", opposite side is that there are many many amazing nurses as well. Tests don't show everything in paramedic school our instructor always said he would rather work with someone street smart than book smart. There really should be a better balance for assessing potential students.

So true and so sad. My husband laughs that when their isn't a timer I can get a decent score but as son as its timed..my nerves kick in and I get flustered. Any other situation though I'm fine, even when working the ER as an EMT I did well. Just testing...it kills me. I'm hands on. I'm a essay lerson...how I loath multiple choice. :) test is in 2 weeks!

I spoke with the nursing department about last falls scores since they are the best guess on what we will need to get in. 153 was the highest....wowza right?! But that person ended up going to a different campus which freed up a new spot at Bloomington. Out of the initial 40, 15 choose to decline or go to a different campus. The score range for the initial 40 was 136-153. With the next 15 it went down to 130. For those that then made it into the LPN program their scores went down to 126. Hopefully this helps with figuring things out. I'm bummed that I actually finished ANPY and got an A but now it doesn't count in points...that would have been a nice boost. Good luck!

I have all As in my Pre-reqs and I am taking the TESTsoon....I wish they would take prior work experience or bachelor degrees into experience....proof that we have already shown our value in Healthcare or our educational accomplishments..... I have met several people who have never been exposed to actually working in Healthcare and hated it after graduation....yet they took up a spot in the program. Pre reqs and a test score isn't enough for comped at I've programs, they need to look further into the individuals and have a better selection. I'll apply to Bloomington Ivy tech...I'm a bag of nerves.
