Ivy Tech Thread

Funny, I got home from school yesterday and my husband popped his head out of the house. I yelled "did you get the mail" he said, "Yes, don't worry you didn't get anything."

I don't want to hear that from him, I want to see myself.

I told him he was not allowed to get the mail until after I get my letter!:smiley_ab

I doubt he will listen, but he better not OPEN ANYTHING from Ivy Tech!

I have three girls, a sophomore (who hates me) an eighth grader and a second grader. The first two are from a prior marriage, I started at 23!

lol- Do any teenage girls like their mothers? Are your kids excited about you wanting to go into nursing school? Mine are younger and I have been home with them up until recently. Some weeks I don't work at all, and some weeks they have to stay in after-care 1 or 2 days a week. (I'm prn at a local hospital as a PCT). They whine and complain about it, so I guess they are rotten!!! They want me to be a nurse, just not have to go to school for it.....lol!!!:typing

you are definitely not alone! i really think that i have a great chance here at indy, but that doesn't mean my stomach is not in knots!!!!! oh, the anxiety! please, please, please let there be a letter for me when i get home from class today!!!!!!!!!

me too, nn! i showed my daughter all our countdown posts and she thought it was hilarious!! (she is 11):loveya: it's been so great to be able to wait with other folks who are as neurotic as i am! remember...the letters are supposed to go out today, so technically we shouldn't expect anything until thur or friday.... i'm going to be running from my computer, to the window, to the computer, to the window....to the mailbox....to the computer.... round and round we go...when it stops...only ivy tech knows.....

I am fortunate that I haven't had to work while attending school. My dear husband payed off our cars so I could quit working my part time waitressing job.

Mostly, they are worried about me working full time once I graduate. What they don't realize, is that I'm probably less available now, with my studies, than I will be once I begin working.

My 7 year old wants to know why I want to be a doctor?????????? She thinks a doctor and a nurse are the same thing:nurse:

Ha! I turned mine in on the same day!!!! This has been the longest wait ever! I feel like a an antsy little kid...I get so bummed out when I get the mail and there's nothing there for Ivy Tech. Well, except for today--my student loan disbursement check came. Yea!

Wow! Congrats!!! I think I am waiting for that as much as I am waiting for my letter!

I am also waiting for my letter to arrive. I applied to Fort Wayne, and in one of the "school of nursing" documents I've read recently, it stated that the target date for letters to be sent out is Sept. 30th. I took that to mean they will be sent out when they "darn well feel like it" around the 30th. I know someone who got theirs on October 3rd, and another who had to wait until the 14th. (if that happens to me, someone will have to peel me off the ceiling)

I'm not sure, but I think all campuses are the same for their target date.

I would stay in the class, you could pull your grade up with labs and what not. If you do get a B and have to re-take the class, just think of how easy it will be taking it a second time!!! I had to re-take 102, I went into the final with a 94% and must have BOMBED the test because I got a B for my final grade!!! I then toik 201 in the summer and the next fall took 102...it was a breeze! There were a few test I completly forgot about until I walked in the door and still got A's on them.

Hi Sunkist maybe we've already had classes together or are in classes together?

I took ANP 102 over the summer.

I am in Micro, Math118, and Exposition and persuasion right now.

How many points did you apply with?

I feel like I'm on the ledge with 202..........I'm holding my breath!

I took ANP 102 for the first time 2 years ago!! The second time I took it last fall, I had my Eng 112 over a year ago, Math 118 last spring, I have been at this for awhile! I was so miss-informed when I started it is taking forever! That is why I REALLY REALLY want to get in this spring! I am taking 3 classes right now that I don't need!
