Ivy Tech Spring 2011 Applicants

U.S.A. Indiana

Hey, just seeing who's on here that will be applying with me. I'm applying to Muncie, Kokomo, and Ft. Wayne. I feel like this is all I think about already. I'm retaking a couple of pre reqs this summer to improve my score. I've already taken the teas but will probably retake it as I only received an 83. I've also attended all the nursing info sessions. What is everybody else doing to prepare? I'm so paranoid about forgetting something! I'm looking forward to talking with people in the same boat. Or if anyone who has already applied wants to share advice, I'd gladly listen!

I like the way you think. Maybe the board not being as active is a good indication that there are not as many applying for Spring 2011. I think another reason they have many more apply in the Fall is because students that are finishing up prerequisite classes can go ahead and apply for Fall, and wait for final grades. They don't allow students to do that when applying for Spring clinicals. Good Luck to all.

Anybody else excited to check the mail every day? I know it's early, but I'm hoping for a miracle. :D I think the earliest someone got a letter last time was the 20th.... So one week....

Yeah it's getting close! I'm gonna wait about another week before I start getting anxious :)

Hi everyone! Move over, its starting to get exciting again! I applied to Indy, Terre Haute, Bloomington for RN and PN, I also applied to Greencastle for PN ( no RN available for them this year). I am soooo hopeful! If I dont make it I might go for the Respiratory Therapy Degree. I have an 83 on the TEAS, and all A,s on everything else I have taken since I began my college life. Good luck to everyone! I just hope this round of applications goes much more smoothly than the fall did. That was one messed up process!!

It is almost down to the wire! I'm sooo excited/anxious/nervous! I'm hoping they start coming a little early, although I really doubt it, But i have hope! I hope we all make it in!!

Cheers! Here's to each and every one of us being accepted! ;)

I am getting excited too.:lol2: It's already been two weeks since we applied. I am trying to keep busy so I don't think about it so much. Goodluck to us all!:nurse:

Well, we're surely over half our wait by now. Not much longer I hope, I'm going crazy! I know its too early to get a letter but I'm still nervous to open the mailbox just in case!

When I turned in my application package for Terre Haute, I asked when letters would be sent by. I was told that since there was only one person going through them, not to expect to hear anything until the end of October! Can that be right?!? Has anyone else heard anything about when letters will go out?

I called Valpo yesterday and they said the letters should go out on time or a few days late. Some girls in one of my classes asked at the Gary campus and they said not until October or November!

I think the letters going out late is inexcusable. I want to attend Gary because the hospitals Valpo uses for clinicals are to far from my home. If I get accepted at Valpo and haven't heard from Gary I will have to accept. Then if I hear from Gary in Oct. or Nov. I'll have to call Valpo and tell them I'm not coming. That's not fair to some other student who is waiting to get into Valpo. Or the personnel in the nursing program. They think they have their program set then have to change it cuz Gary can't get their act together.

True...I emailed Muncie program chair and she said October would probably be the deadline for them to send out letters as well...I don't see why they can't just send out an email and save the headache!

How long does it take to sort and order 100-200 people based on scores lol. Surely not more than a month! Oh well, I'm just getting anxious. :nuke: Ugh. I'm glad I can post on this message board and see that others are going through the same situation as me, kinda makes me feel a little better. Let's all have a beer.
