Hey, just seeing who's on here that will be applying with me. I'm applying to Muncie, Kokomo, and Ft. Wayne. I feel like this is all I think about already. I'm retaking a couple of pre reqs this summer to improve my score. I've already taken the teas but will probably retake it as I only received an 83. I've also attended all the nursing info sessions. What is everybody else doing to prepare? I'm so paranoid about forgetting something! I'm looking forward to talking with people in the same boat. Or if anyone who has already applied wants to share advice, I'd gladly listen!
You have a right to your opinion, as do I. With that being said, its my opinion that its very selfish to accept a limited seat in the program when you aren't sure its what you want. It'd be easier to swallow if you failed out!! I would think you could check into nursing job requirements before you wasted your and your instructors time. You come off as very arrogant but I hope you understand while I give you congrats on doing well, your "very high" score says nothing except you may have good study habits. It does not mean you are a quick on your feet, or have the skills to problem solve in a high stress situation. You may have EARNED your spot fair and square but regardless someone who may be a wonderful nurse isn't in the program. And that's what still ticks me off. Good luck in your future.
Geez oww, you sure are defensive! But I do think labelling me as "arrogant" and "selfish" is a bit presumptuous of you when you don't know me at all. Evidently you did not read my prior post regarding why I dropped out. Honestly, I'm kind of taken aback my your rude, "opinionated" comment. I understand you are under a lot of stress right now waiting for your letter (I was in your shoes as well), but venting towards me while insulting my character is not going to impact whether or not you get in the program. You will be amazed when you get into the program all of the different types of people that are accepted and their individual reasons for pursuing a nursing degree. Even though some people may have different reasons than yourself, it doesn't mean that they are wrong. Nursing school is a huge learning experience (not just academically), and what I learned about myself is that it is not the career path for me. With that being said, I hope you can respect the choices I've made for my life, as I respect yours. I wish you well on your nursing school journey and best of luck for in getting into your local campus program!
If you think thats bad, some Fall 2010 applicants had to have a response in to some campuses before they even heard back from others!!!
I think that might happen to me. I also applied to Gary and they said the middle of October for the letters. So I could have to accept at Valpo just to make sure I have a spot somewhere and then call them back and decline if I get into Gary. Not fair to the students wanting a spot or to the Valpo program since they think there set and then have people calling back and declining.
The paperwork says letters on or before Sept. 30 and thats what they should do.

I disagree with you. I would think if you wanted to be a nurse and spent all that time and money on pre-reqs you would have investigated what the job entailed. Despite your "high scores" you didn't do your homework and took up a seat that a student who knows what they want and what a career as a nurse means could have had.
