This is the "Not In" thread, or for anyone that's planning on applying for Spring Semester by the Sept 1st deadline.

We need love too! :loveya:

My Boring Stats:

A's in prereq's except ANP 2...taking that class now.

Horribly embarrassing TEAS at 76, still have two more tries. (Which is why I'm taking math and phys sci this summer. lol)

Hope to get into the Bloomington or Terre Haute programs. (Yay! Greene county gets region pts at both. lol)

Currently frazzling myself out with 5 online classes

It's nice to meet you....whoever you are....

In case anyone else was having a similar dilemma about the health forms, the nursing office told me today that there is a grace period on those forms, so I can turn-in the proof of the 2nd Tb step next week when it's done. No CXR required! Thank God! I was freaking out and totally afraid that I would be banned from nursing school. Wow, that would REALLY suck!

Annie, I'm glad you found out that turning in the forms later would be okay! That's much better than messing with getting a chest xray!

Do we have to give them the original health form with all the dates and signatures, but copies of everything else (actual shot records, drug screen results, CPR card, etc)?

So let's list out everything we need at orientation to make sure none of us forget anything:

--Certified Background.com Results report

--CPR card front and back

--Health Form completed: Measles, Hep B, Chicken Pox, TB, physical

--Shot records (just in case)

--Evidence of seasonal flu vaccine (clinical sites said they wanted it)

--Evidence of H1N1 flu vaccine (if you've been able to get it yet)

Anything I'm missing?

We have to get the flu shot and the H1N1 shot?

Well, originally back in Sept/Oct the nursing office was saying that clinical sites were going to require that nursing students get the H1N1 vaccine or else they might have to wear masks or get switched to a different clinical site. Then at orientation, they said it was really only one or two clinical sites that had been saying that, but that since the H1N1 vaccine was just not available to anyone outside of the high risk groups, that the clinical site(s) were saying that they wanted everyone to at least have the seasonal flu vaccine.

So, honestly I'm not sure what the current status is. I'm sure they will talk about it at orientation (or someone could ask about it if they don't bring it up). Now that the H1N1 vaccine is more widely available to the general public, they might be wanting us to get it. For me personally, I had already gotten the seasonal flu vaccine in September (and will include my receipt from the CVS MinuteClinic to turn in with my other forms), and if I can get the H1N1 vaccine before Thursday, I will. But, I'm one who wanted to get it regardless of being in the nursing program or not.

I don't think they are required. There was an issue with the St Francis clinical location and the H1N1 vaccine, but due to the availability issues they backed off.

Yeah Kim now I remember them saying it was St Francis. I thought they had said that St Francis backed off from the H1N1 requirement but still wanted their students to at least have the seasonal.

Whatever, I'm at Hancock and already got the seasonal and like I said, want to get the H1N1 regardless.

Well I have to take my boy in for a follow-up on his flu shot on Monday and will just get the seasonal to be safe. I will also get the H1N1 if they will give it to me. Better safe than sorry.

It is very possible that they wanted the seasonal. I stuck with what was on the sheet, if our clinical locations require anything else we have plenty of time to get them done before they start.

I would like to get both shots also, but I am already feeling enough like a pin cushion as it is! Maybe next month.

This is from the nursing dept.

"At this point in time, they are not required. We do suggest them."

from the other co-chair

"it is not mandatory, we do have a few clinical sites that do require it. so it is up to you."

I'm confused about the Certified Background report that we are supposed to bring to orientation.

What exactly is the "results report"?? I never got any results. I got a receipt from Certified Background, which I turned in to the nursing office in exchange for the drug test sheet. Then I went to LabCorp for drug testing and turned in that sheet when I got tested. The lady gave me a thing that's signed, saying I got tested, but it doesn't have results on it.

I never heard anything after that, so how am I supposed to have papers with the results on them? I'm so confused
