U.S.A. Indiana

This is the "Not In" thread, or for anyone that's planning on applying for Spring Semester by the Sept 1st deadline.

We need love too! :loveya:

My Boring Stats:

A's in prereq's except ANP 2...taking that class now.

Horribly embarrassing TEAS at 76, still have two more tries. (Which is why I'm taking math and phys sci this summer. lol)

Hope to get into the Bloomington or Terre Haute programs. (Yay! Greene county gets region pts at both. lol)

Currently frazzling myself out with 5 online classes

It's nice to meet you....whoever you are....

Wow, Carlos! That's a pretty sweet deal! I'll have to keep it in mind if I need to get all of that crap done. I figured that's where the health dept. was, but I wasn't sure. It's definitely not "down the street" but I guess it's not so bad. I get my TB test and flu shot for free at my husband's work (he manages a nursing agency), but I'd have to get the rest someplace else (sounds like the health dept will be the "big winner" since it's free! haha!)

I'm wondering if I could buy the scrub pants at the bookstore and take them with me to some other scrub places to try on scrub pants in matching colors but different styles. I know we can't do cargos, slit-ankle pants, etc. but I am 5-feet tall and really don't want to hem my scrubs! lol! I'd like to be able to buy some that actually fit and maybe have a little bit of a bootcut let or something. Not that it's fashion-on-parade, of course, but if you're going to wear an outfit for 3+ days a week, you might as well feel good in it, right? As long as the leg style and length are the only difference, I got the impression that the nursing chairs/teachers really don't care. I'll just have to see what's out there, I guess.

That is a really good idea on the pants. I never thought of trying that. You can tell that even the guys shirts are not made for guys. I had to move up 2 sizes larger than the shirt I was wearing to get a shirt that will fit my shoulders. I tried them on yesterday and was astounded on how they fit. It is a girls shirt with a zipper that they are asking men to wear, but you can surely tell they are not made for a mans body. Same thing with the lab coats, the buttons are on the wrong side and would drive me insane if I tried to use it very often. I guess I better get used to it. I am having a hard time finding mens shoes that are all white.

Specializes in Neurology.

Just a heads up for anyone getting shots/TB test at the Marion County Health Department. There is a question on the TB form that asks if you have had any immunizations within the last 5 weeks. When I asked the nurse about it, she said I should get my 2 TB's done first, then come back for the immunizations. Not sure if I would have been denied if I had, but it may be worth a phone call if you need both.

AnneMaire, I was wondering the same thing about the scrubs...I'm 5'10 and I wear a size small/extra long...there's no way the bookstore scrubs are going to fit!

Btw, am I the only one who hasn't gotten my schedule yet?? I'm getting really frustrated since everyone else I've talked to already has theirs! Also, when do we get to meet our advisors and stuff? So many questions!

Sunny, are you west? I noticed that none of the Hendricks county clinicals have been scheduled yet.

Sunny, are you west? I noticed that none of the Hendricks county clinicals have been scheduled yet.

That makes me wonder if they are having trouble firming up the clinical sites with Hendricks.

Well, the co-chair said (in a return email to me) that all spots have been filled, just some have not made it through the registration system yet. So whoever will get Hendricks is figured out, it just hasn't been officially entered yet.

Is anyone having trouble getting a Chickenpox Titer?

Is there a state or national shortage of varicella vaccine or something?

No. I dont have a family physician and am having trouble finding one to do the vaccine or that does the Titer.

Nope, I'm North. Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but how can you guys see which spots have been filled? I emailed one of the co-chairs twice about some questions and have yet to hear back (this was almost a week ago)

Did you check your Registration Status for Spring 2010 in the Self Service Banner of Campus Connect?

To see all the classes, you just have to look them up individually in CC. Look up Nurs 105 at Indy-Lawrence and you'll see all the clinicals and it lists how many spots are registered and how many are left. But like I said, I was told that all spots have been figured out/claimed/taken for the 120 new students, (i.e. the co-chairs know where everyone is placed/scheduled) but not all of them have been officially entered into the system yet.
