Ivy Tech Nursing Spring 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! Just wanted to start a thread for all of us applying to the RN/LPN Nursing Program for the 2017 Spring Semester!

I am currently in the process of studying super hard for my TEAS re-take. I took it last Saturday and got a whopping 70 :grumpy: I was really disappointed in that. My current points if I were to apply right now are 121/160 so I don't think that is enough for the RN program. Hopefully I do alot better the second time around! At least I know what to expect now on this terrible test! lol I plan on applying to Indy and Bloomington campuses. Good Luck to us all! :woot:

Specializes in Oncology and Post-Anesthesia.

I applied for ASN as well as PN at Anderson, Lawrence/Indy, and Kokomo.

Acceptance e-mails went out two days ago, and I was absolutely amazed.

I took the TEAS V in February of 2015 and I honestly didn't do as well as I would've liked in the science section. I ended up with a score of 64. I had a B in APHY 101 and an A in both english and writing. It's funny because the only B I've gotten was in APHY 101, even after taking 102 and advanced physiology.

Anyways, my scored ended up totalling 114.72 out of the possible 160. I'd accepted I'd probably get offered the PN program.

Well, Kokomo e-mailed me an offer for the traditional ASN program! I'm in shock, and so so grateful. I'd done my research regarding other students from previous semesters who had been accepted, and what their scores were. I've honestly never seen a score as low as mine get accepted for ASN. Safe to say I cried when I got the e-mail. Anyways, I look forward to seeing some of you as classmates as Kokomo!

Congratulations to all of you who were accepted!

Hi there, anyone going to the Anderson campus for ASN? I accepted my offer today, I didn't know that they had already emailed acceptance letters, that was super fast!

Hey guys I got my acceptance letter Friday! Yay I'll be st Gary/valporaiso campus!Goodluck to everyone

Congrats everyone! :)

I was accepted into the Columbus PN program! Will anyone else be attending Columbus? I can't believe how quickly we are finding out. I hope we learn more about orientation soon.

Hello . I am applying to sellersburg ivy tech with a teas score of 71 and all As in prerequisite, I just turned my application in today and I'm soo nervous!

Got accepted congrats to you all

I wonder if this means I didn't get in. I haven't heard back yet! :-( I haven't even got a "you suck" letter.

Is there a time you have to accept your application by? Maybe I'm put on the "if someone changes their mind" list..

Maybe I'm in the PN list..

Ahh so stressful!

I have heard that they have 4 waves of emails going out. I believe they are in the second wave right now. I think they give everyone about a week to accept their spot. I heard others say their advisers told them that there will be waves until the first week of October and you will get an email regardless of the outcome.

You don't suck! I hope you hear back soon with some great news! Good Luck.

Ps. If you have facebook, you should join the Indiana Community College Nursing group. They have been so helpful and they even have a sheet where everyone posts their scores with if they were accepted or not. This may give you a good idea of where your score fits in with the campuses you applied to. I know there are quite a few people still waiting to hear back in the group as well, so you are not alone.

I just requested to join maybe 20 minutes ago. Waiting to get in and frantically look through everything. Ugh. I hope I get in!

I got my offer email on 9/9. I didn't need check my email until today but luckily I received an email again this week.

I am going to the Anderson Campus!!

Specializes in LTC.

Hello! I wonder if any of you are still around?

I am very curious to see the vaccination letter they send when you get accepted. I do not have access to my immunization records, and if I am going to require a lot of them ~ I'd like to start that process as soon as possible and spread them out. But I know they are probably very specific in their requirements, timeframes, etc.

I don't want to wait too long, nor do I want to do things too early and have them not "count".

If anyone is willing to send me a copy of that letter, I would greatly appreciate it! And a huge CONGRATS to all who are accepted. I hope to be where you are soon. :)

Hello fellow Ivy Tech prenursing students,

I am really at a roadblock on what to do. I live in Fort Wayne Indiana, and was unable to get into the LPN/RN program, however I seriously feel the nursing advisors steered me in the wrong direction if it makes sense. I had a W and F on my transcript and they decided instead of allowing me to retake the courses I didn't do well in that I should go for medical assisting. Now that might be ok but I'm not at ease with this decision. I truly want nursing and have called hospitals and spoken with many nurses and even medical assistants that earning a degree in medical assisting is wasting time on what my end goal is going to be which is nursing. I have an A in A&P 102 now a B in PSY 101, a C in A&P 101, which I was thinking to retake in the spring and a B in ENG 111. Now I know my grades are not competitive this is why I need advice. If I were to retake my A&P 101 and get an A I would have As in both A&P 1&2. Should I also retake my PSY 101 and I am also planning to retake ENG 111 in the spring with A&P 101. I am also considering applying to campuses other than Fort Wayne. I have 3 I want to consider. The 3 are Ivy Tech Wabash, Ivy Tech Warsaw and Ivy Tech Marion since these are all closest to the Fort Wayne location. I would like advice on anyone who attends these locations or knows how competitive these three campuses are to apply. Once I complete English and Anatomy this spring I will be ready to apply. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
