Ivy Tech Nursing Fall 2016

Published

Hi everyone!

I just took my TEAS test today and scored better than I thought I would, but I still want to retake it for a better score. I'm applying to the RN program, but I have a B in APHY 101, a B in psychology and an A in English.

Has anyone been accepted to the RN program with these grades? I plan to apply to the LPN program too.

Has anyone done the transitional program from LPN to RN? I'm trying to decide if it's more cost effective to retake APHY and psych or to do the LPN to RN program (if grades are acceptable for LPN program)

thanks for any tips/comments/advice!

Anderson & the TEAS was horrible to me. Sorry but not sorry. Just want to be honest with you. Don't take it lightly. It isn't an easy test. I got a 92 in English and high 60's in the rest. My NCLEX was much easier !!!!!!!!!! In my truthful, honest opinion

Which campus are you applying to?

I was accepted into the ASN program in South Bend with a B in APHY 101 & 102, and A's the rest. My TEAS was also mid-80's.

The TEAS test is not easy for everyone. I struggled with science since it had been forever since I took Chemistry. I did great on the Math and English/Reading. Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone,

I got an A in Anatomy, A in Psych and a B in English. I'm studying for the Teas right now and I plan on applying to the Bloomington campus. If anybody else is applying there let me know so we can be nervous together lol

LPN or RN?

I'm applying for LPN and RN

I'm in the LPN program at Lawrence now. The cut off for our cohort (Fall 2015) was about 131. Some who had 131 got asn and some with the same score got lpn. Lawrence has made the transition into two semesters instead of three. I plan to take nclex as soon as possible so I can do the transition program.

Also, I hear that you can get asn with lower scores during Spring since less ppl apply. There are some ppl who started this January with scores in the 120s.

I wonder how they made the transition only 2 semesters? I cannot imagine how many credit hours a semester that equals. I think 3 is fast enough. I am super excited and nervous. Good luck to everyone! Again make sure you get those apps in early and study for that TEAS test..

Thanks for the information. I wish they would tailor the teas to more "nursing" related questions

Hello,

I am currently a student at Ivy Tech South Bend. I am planning on applying to multiple campuses (South Bend, Indianapolis, Valparaiso and Gary) for the ASN program for the Fall 2016 semester. I have As in all my prerequisite classes and got 83.3% on my first attempt of the Teas V Exam. All points calculated, this equals 143/160 for my application. Is this good enough to get in? Should I retake the exam and try to score higher before the submission deadline?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this is giving me nothing but stress!!!
