Hi everyone!
I just took my TEAS test today and scored better than I thought I would, but I still want to retake it for a better score. I'm applying to the RN program, but I have a B in APHY 101, a B in psychology and an A in English.
Has anyone been accepted to the RN program with these grades? I plan to apply to the LPN program too.
Has anyone done the transitional program from LPN to RN? I'm trying to decide if it's more cost effective to retake APHY and psych or to do the LPN to RN program (if grades are acceptable for LPN program)
thanks for any tips/comments/advice!

Well the points break down like this:
APHY101 = Max pts 30
ENG11 = Max pts 15
PSY101 = Max pts 15
TEAS =
0.3 X Reading (Max 30pts)
0.2 X Math (Max 20pts)
0.3 X Science (Max 30pts)
0.2 X Writing (Max 20pts)
Total = ?/160pts
The selection is just whoever has the highest raw score. Calculate your total using your prereqs and your TEAS scores.
Here's just what I've managed to gather: (DO NOT TAKE THIS AS GOSPEL. These are just my personal opinions and they could be wrong)
120-130: It depends on your campus. I've heard claims of people making it in with this range, but not many. There's probably less than a 50% chance in this range
130-140: Probably about 50/50. Of the few people who've felt comfortable enough to divulge their scores are in this range.
140-150: Very good chance of getting in, even in the more competitive campuses. I'd feel comfortable in this range.
>150: You're in. End of discussion. (My adviser said she almost never sees anyone score above 150)
Again, THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION. Take this with a grain of salt. Talk to your adviser and see what he/she says.

I am scheduled to take teas in march. I am studying the TEAS study guide. I am praying hoping, to get a good enough teas grade to surpass the grades.
I think they are good!
I'll let you know of my teas score once I take it. I hope everything works out.
Keep me updated
Good luck! The TEAS isn't as bad as I thought as long as you follow the study guide :) I'm retaking mine in February and will keep you updated!

I plan on applying for the LPN to RN this Summer. I went for my LPN first because I was in a hurry. . I love it, so much & can't wait to move forward in my career. I would recommend trying to go straight for the RN though, in my opinion. For several reasons. It's hard to go back to school when you're making great money! I used to be a CNA..
But I would recommend going straight for RN, if that is your final destination. Being an LPN is not bad though, the LPN to RN transition is
12 months, which is not bad at all. Summer session, fall & spring :)
Where did you go for your LPN?
What were your grades and teas score?
Ivy tech. 2A's 1B & 74.8 on TEAS
What campus?
The TEAS test really isn't that bad as long as you brush up on basic skills. I recommend getting the ATI study guide and looking over the English/math/reading first then really digging into the science part (that's my weak area too). I used study guides I found at Barnes and nobles for my first attempt and they were helpful, but now that I have the actual ATI study guide I feel I will do much better on my second attempt.
Make sure to eat a good breakfast before the test since it takes 3.5 hours :)
Good luck!
Thanks for sharing. I am so nervous about getting in. I
Think about it all day!
I'm studying every science thing I can find along with math.
Reading and English I am pretty good with. I devote at least an hour a day to studying. I know if I get into the program I will be studying at least that as well...
