Ivy Tech - Fall 2012

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

Thought I would start a thread to see how many people were applying to Ivy Tech's Fall 2012 nursing programs.

I will be applying to the Fort Wayne campus. Looking to see if they are any others out there who might be joining me.

Please feel free to post where you are applying, and then once those letter get mailed out at the end of May, let us know if you got in!

The waiting game is getting old! Ive warned my kids not to touch the mail. I'm afraid someone will get to it before me and forget to give me the envelop. I'm becoming paranoid! I'm only appying to Indianapolis. I have an adjusted score of 180.8 points. Good luck to everyone who has applied!

Nothing in the mail today

I swear I can hear my mailman walking up to my house from 100 paces away. LOL I know letters probably haven't mailed out yet, but I still can't help to run out there and check!

Of course it doesn't help that at least 3 times a day someone asks if I received my letter yet. :banghead:

So I went to the Bloomington campus to purchase a book for my online summer class. The building was all but deserted. :( I'm thinking it's going to be a bit before the B-town letters go out, probably middle of next week at the earliest. Of course, it was a Friday afternoon... maybe everybody took Friday off? Oh, except for the hardworking custodial staff, who were cleaning as if their lives depended on it. Oh well... it is what it is... and in the words of the immortal Patsy Cline...":Crazy... crazy for feeling this way...."

Ahhhh...the wait seems as if it will kill you!! That was me last summer! Thankfully I got my letter and I just finished my 1st year in the ASN program at Valpo. I applied to both Valpo & Lafayette last fall with a score of 173.3 and was accepted at both campuses for the ASN program. I know how frustrating it is waiting and wondering where you're at compared to others and waiting on "the letter".

Although things change from year to year and from campus to campus, here is some info that hopefully helps. According to the dates of my letters last year, Valpo letters went out around June 8th & Lafayette around June 2. Valpo had about 40 spots (20 for ASN/20 for PN). Lafayette only did the ASN program last fall but had available the same amount of spots which I do believe was at least 40...maybe 50?? Someone correct me if I have that number wrong!! Not sure what that campus is doing for this fall. Based on the scores of others, my 173.3 (All A's and an 83.3 TEAS) was about in the middle of the range of accepted scores.

Also keep in mind that not all campuses send out alternate letters...even if you are the first one they may call when someone drops their spot...so try not to freak out if your first letter isn't a congratulatory one. Keep your chin up because most people have applied to multiple campuses...they drop the spots they don't want and it opens the door for someone else.

Good luck to you all...and try not to pull all your hair out waiting :)

I am waiting on a letter from Lawrence. Does anybody know if they send out alternate letters?

Nothing in the mail today

I know what you are going through. My husbands texts me every day after he thinks the mail has come and asks if I've received a letter that day. Drives me insane. I told him he was adding to my frustration and should probably just bring me massive amounts of sushi roll and the largest bottle of wine he can find.

Got my letter from Lawrence for the ASN program today...

"We regret to inform you......."

Better luck next time, I guess. I had an 87 on my TEAS, but a B in A&P 2 and English (161/190). I took them years ago and didn't think they would even transfer... When they did, I knew I probably wouldn't get in, but I figured I'd give it a shot! Looks like I'll be retaking them over the summer unless Anderson or Kokomo have better news to report.

Sorry to hear that Mmills! :(

....unless Anderson or Kokomo have better news to report.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Anyone out there apply for the transition? I applied to the Indy campus and havent seen anyone anywhere talking about the transition program. Hoping this is a good sign that there are not many applicants! My score was 173.3. Anyone know when letters for the transition to RN are to be mailed out?

I got in to Indy's Campus today!!!! :) yay. I'm so excited and I'm glad all that not having a life paid off.
