Is there anyone else out there, or is it just me? :)
I'd love to connect with others who are applying for the Fall 2017 nursing program.
I am signed up to complete my prerequisites in the spring. English and Public Speaking are already done with an A, from a prior degree with Ivy Tech. They are also going to waive the IVY112 class because I am an Ivy Tech grad.
So I am signed up for APHY101, MATH123, PSYC101, and SOC111.
On one hand, I can't wait for classes to start! On the other hand, with the Holidays, I know the time is going to fly by.
I have the TEAS study guide from Amazon (ATI TEAS Secrets Study Guide: TEAS 6 Complete Study Manual, Full-Length Practice Tests, Review Video Tutorials for the Test of Essential Academic Skills, Sixth Edition: 9781516703838: Medicine & Health Science Books @ Amazon.com) and I am studying it and looking through the first practice test. So far, so good! Lots of info there to cover. Will keep me busy, for sure.
About me: My degree is in Business Administration and my work history is mostly in accounting, but I've been home with our 3 boys for the past 16 years. We have homeschooled for the past seven years. They all went to public school this year, and they are doing GREAT! Now I need a new direction, as well... I've got maybe 30 years of working ahead of me, and I want to have a solid career. I hated being stuck at a desk. Nursing ~ here we go!
Can someone who scored high on the science and English portion of the teas give me some tips and advice. I scored in the 80 on math and reading but science was terrible. Thank you all. And congratulations to everyone who made it in!
The TEAS Mastery app will "over-prepare" you for the science portion, IMO. I used that to determine my areas of weakness, then used Khan academy videos to thoroughly cover what I didn't know. When I say thoroughly, I mean pausing, rewinding, taking notes -- probably spending 20-30 minutes on a 10-minute video.
Hello guys, I was accepted into the Lafayette ASN program. I got my acceptance letter a few weeks ago, back in May. I just now received an orientation date. The email said that we will register for our classes during orientation. I am so excited. Anyone else accepted into the Lafayette campus? Orientation for us is on July 6th.
Mines is the 21st. Some campuses have already been to orientation this week and received their class schedule.
Feels weird to have to wait another 3-4 weeks, doesn't it? Aren't they lucky! :)
I'm not sure what to picture as far as days and times at all. I haven't even looked at the course schedule online for awhile. I wasn't sure if it was correct or not.
Hi ladies ! A little late, but I kept finding this thread pop up and have read through the comments for months. I take the TEAS Tuesday and am extremely nervous. I've been holding off for a 1 1/2 years because I wasn't confident enough. I began studying January 2017 like crazy for an entire week. I didn't know where to start with the ATI manual because I was so nervous. It was also hard for me to study because of my previous job. Working the entire week and doing 12 hour shifts every 2 weeks and more on weekdays took a lot of energy out of me while going to school. I was going to apply for Fall semester, but I had so much going on and slowly brushed it off. By the time I realized the deadline was a month away and how much I didn't know I decided I wasn't going to do it. I quit my job a month ago and decided that this was more important and I didn't want to wait any longer. Seeing how everyone is taking their TEAS and what they did to study and the scores they've reached has truly motivated and inspired me. With that said, I'm applying for Spring term at Kokomo and little late on taking the TEST A from the ATI. I've read comments from others that it is easier to get in for Spring because not many apply. My goal is to score at least an 85 on the TEAS. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time and hope to continue reading the stories, comments, and tips from this thread!
