Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....

Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?

I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.

And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!

if you want to go on for a bsn, it'd be really great to take both of them really. a lot of bsn programs want you to have 10 hours of a&p and if you make it through advanced a&p that'll give you those 10 hours. that's why i took it. i also took micro and it's really helpful (i thought) and very interesting.

i took advanced a and p and loved it!

I also took both Microbiology and Advanced Physiology. I highly recommend taking both. I absolutely love Micro!!:D

206 was the cutoff for Anderson. My classmate is waiting to hear if she got into the LPN program. Anderson said the LPN letters should be out next week.

I am declining my spot for LPN in Muncie/Anderson because I got accepted into the RN, so that frees up a spot for someone! :yeah:

What were your points for the Anderson region?

anyone get a pn letter from kokomo or logansport?

Anyone gotten PN letters from Anderson? If so, what points did you have?

mcjones, do you personally know someone who got accepted to Anderson with a 206? I ask, only because I know someone who got an alternate letter with a 206. If someone actually got accepted with a 206 (maybe with 1/2 point higher TEAS or something?), then that would make it much more likely that he would make it into the program. i'm still amazed by the high scores this year.

My pal who was waiting for her LPN letter went to the Anderson campus and asked what the cutoff was. She had a 201 and wanted to know if she was going to be able to get into the PN program. They told her the cutoff was 206 for RN. I would assume that the TEAS score is looked at more closely if there is a tie. On a slightly different note, my pal went back yesterday and was told that she would be receiving a letter of invitation to the PN program in Anderson. I'm very happy for her. :yeah:

Congrats to all those who got their letters last week! I would've probably posted on here sooner... But this has seriously been the busiest week in my life! Last Thursday we moved into our new house, and Saturday was my son's first birthday. There's been so much to do, I don't know how I've even gotten any sleep. We don't have Internet hooked up yet (supposedly it's being hooked up today, but who knows - it was supposed to be on two days ago) so I'm writing this from campus right now. It's been a huge pain to try to get all my homework done with no Internet! Ugh. Our Nursing info session is next Monday and I'm really excited, but I'll seriously be so incredibly thankful when my life winds down a little bit and I can quit stressing so much. I like to be busy, but not THIS busy.

I received my acceptance letter from Anderson today for the pn program, I had 204 points

What were your points for the Anderson region?

I had 207. They actually are sending me to the New Castle campus which I am not thrilled about since I live in Anderson. I have two small children in preschool and I don't like being that far away in case of an emergency. I am hoping that I can switch to the Anderson campus once they get all of the accept/decline responses back. I am happy to have gotten accepted either way, so if I have to go there then I will!
