Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....

Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?

I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.

And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!

Has anyone received a LPN letter from Logansport?? If so, what are the scores?? I'm still waiting here!!

they placed me in new castle and i live in anderson! i am hoping that i can change it!!

there were probably a lot of people who are from the east side of indy so anderson would be their closest campus. i'm sure there will be people declining positions all over the place since most people got in to multiple campuses. it is definitely worth calling and asking the nursing department.

does anyone know the locations where the anderson campus usually does their clinicals?

is there anyone who has applied to either lafayette or valpo and were selected to be alternates, received their letters letting them know that they have now been accepted? just curious as to where they are at on the alternate list as i have seen several people that are giving up their spots for one reason or another.

I just received a call from Lafayette and I am in the PN program for this fall!!!:yeah:

Where you an alternate?

awesome!! i like to think it is my spot that you were able to take since i got in somewhere closer to home...lol. congrats!

I just wanted to let yall know that columbus has no spring asn or pn this year. They just announced it yesterday. They have not announced return dates so it wouldn't be a sup prize if the don't start back up at all. I wasted two years getting ready for this program now they do this. I should contact the Better business beau. They announced this the very next school day after you can no longer be refunded for dropped classes. that is greedy. they pooped on my dream. I changed majors and hope that maybe some day if fitting i might still be a nurse. I changed my major to a youth services probation offices. At-lest Ill get to help kids. I am sure it will be a great career but when you dream and work so hard to be a nurse and before you get in the school drops the program, the words i have to say are not appropriate for this web site. I just can't wait a whole year or longer again on this program. To those who are still trying to be a nurse try to care like a mother, i have had so many nurses not truly care and leave me in a bloody bed and a overflowed urinal while i watch my child straggled to live. Remember all your patients are someone's baby, be gentle and show you care, it means so much more than the nurses just trying to get her rounds done.

That's horrible!

Csmith do you have any other ivy tech campus somewhat close to you that you could apply to? That bites that they won't have the nursing program in the spring. I figured they were a big enough campus that they wouldn't have to drop certain programs. I wonder what the story behind this is.

Where you an alternate?

like 10th on the list....they had some openings at another campus within the district.

anyone still waiting to hear from south bend for lpn program? have they mailed out letters yet? last i heard they were mailing them out last week but no one i know has received them. hmmmmmmmmmmm.....

I'm so glad you got into the LPN program, Gatlinburg! :) That's so exciting!

Well, I had my orientation on Monday... It took about two hours. We got all the information about books and uniforms, and we have to get our drug screen and background test done by August 6th. I believe all the other stuff (except books, of course) can wait until we actually start clinicals. I hope I don't have any problems with my financial aid this Fall because I saw our book list and it looks EXPENSIVE. Plus I'll have to pay for the uniforms, drug test, physical, etc... All in all I'm still excited but honestly a little stressed out! :uhoh3:

Getting my schedule was the coolest part of orientation. The program chair said that Pharm is usually the hardest for new RN students, but I'm excited about it. I'm usually pretty good at science classes and I love them - even though Chem is kinda kicking my butt this Summer. Luckily the rest of my classes haven't been too bad.

Also, the program chair said that starting this Fall, Ivy Tech's Nursing program will no longer be through the ITCC School of Health Sciences - it now has its own School of Nursing. I thought that was pretty cool! I'm up way too late and putting off studying for my Public Speaking midterm tomorrow - so I guess I'd better get back to that!
