Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....
Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?
I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.
And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!
Does anyone know about the new math requirements? In the announcement it says that for Fall 2010, spring 2011, and summer 2011 you can take the math during the program and after that you have to take the math prior to admission. Has anyone talked to an adviser about this topic. Also, what does Math 13X stand for? Is it any Math in the 130's? Thanks!
Sorry steph I was devastated yesterday, that letter was very hard for me. cried all the way to class. I did not mean to offend you or anyone else, I apologize. We all work hard for our scores no matter the route you have to take. Again I am very sorry I wasn't trying to hurt anyone, I was just so upset I wasn't stopping to think about the words I was using, or the reality of my thoughts (totally out of my character). I just hope that Ivy Tech continues to grow so that all who want this dream can make it a reality.
i would do an interview if required, but i don't think that would help. i have a gpa of 3.89 and i belong to the honor society and i have all a's and 2 b's in my co recs.....i think that shows dedication.....shouldn't that account for something?
i think they should base scores off of those 4 core classes, the teas score and our gpa. but when you add in the interview it becomes subjective, all you have to have is one interviewer who doesn't like you and you aren't in the prograrm. it won't matter how well you did in your classes. my friend has a 3.95 gpa (only gotten 1 b in her entire college career), is in honor society and both times she's been interviewed for the nursing program at iupui she's been rejected. that was one of the main reasons i chose ivy tech. i wasn't going to let some interviewer who is having a bad day or just plain doesn't like me holding me back from my dream of being an rn. ivy tech's way of calculating scores is objective and i like that better since there is no bias involved.

that is a shame.....what does an interview tell someone about what kind of a nurse they will be or how hard they will work to achieve that dream.
