Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....

Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?

I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.

And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!

If anyone is waiting on Terre Haute...I emailed again today and now I am being told the letters will be mailed the middle of next week.

I'm in at Columbus with a 211 without region points and 214 with them.

206 was the cutoff for Anderson. My classmate is waiting to hear if she got into the LPN program. Anderson said the LPN letters should be out next week.

Got my acceptance letter for Valpo PN today. I am still going to turn it down though and take my acceptance into Respiratory Practitioning ( I'm still soooo excited about it!!!). Going to put it in the mail tomorrow and give someone else the spot! Good luck to everyone! I hope good news awaits you all!

Hello all. For those of you that got acceptance letters.....Congrats! I have one more chance at the TEAS. Plan on studying my butt off for it to try and get better than my current 204 which has proven to not be a high enough score to get into either of the ASN or PN programs at Columbus. My question......what study guides did you all use to prepare yourselves for the TEAS? I have already used the ATI guide for my first two attempts. Any other study guides that you used that seemed to be helpful for you? Any input is greatly appreciated!

I didn't like the ATI guide at all...it didn't go into enough detail for me and it seemed like it wasn't related to the TEAS as much as I thought it would be.

I liked the McGraw-Hill Nursing Entrance Exam Study Guide. I felt this prepared me wayyy more than the ATI guide ever could have.

I used Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exams/Your Complete Guide To Getting Into Nursing School. I used this book at the suggestion of another nursing student who scored a 95 on the TEAS. I scored a 91.8 on the TEAS exam. Good Luck!!

I also use the McGraw-Hill guide and one from Kaplan. I had heard that the ATI guide wasn't very thorough, so I didn't even both with it.

Ive ordered both the Kaplan and McGraw Hill books from Amazon. Thanks everyone so much for the tips!

Someone posted on the Ivy Tech message board they received their letter from Logansport. Has anyone else? I'm waiting from Logansport and have yet to receive anything!!!

hey did you ever get anything from logansport? hope you got some good news :)

mcjones, do you personally know someone who got accepted to Anderson with a 206? I ask, only because I know someone who got an alternate letter with a 206. If someone actually got accepted with a 206 (maybe with 1/2 point higher TEAS or something?), then that would make it much more likely that he would make it into the program. i'm still amazed by the high scores this year.

LOL..nopey. Still waiting!
