Find senior students that might want to sell their books cheap. You could put up a flyer at your school in the nursing building or nursing section. I found my A and P book at the Salvation Army store for $2! It was $140 for the used version at the bookstore. That was a good day. Don't forget to look at secondhand book store. They usually don't sell textbooks but if they have what you are looking for you will probably get a good deal.

I usually search on www.chambal.com because it searches many different sites all at once and will give you the best price (I think it even includes shipping in it). Good luck!!! The first semester books for us were about $700 (just the required), but I think that is the worst of it...the rest of the semesters aren't nearly as bad!

I have never bought optional books....if your not being graded on the content then why waste the money? unless its a good optional book that you will acutally use in nursingif i did , i would be super broke
I agree...I didn't get the optional books either. If I felt I needed them, then I'd get them, but at this point, I don't feel they are necessary.

For my program there are at least $1000 worth of books for the program and I was told by one of the professor not to buy any books until I actually went to class and found out for sure what books they required. I know that several times over the past few semesters that there were several books stated that they were required but we never used them at all, so it was just a waste of money. That's just my .
