I'm a nurse at a local hospital training a new Student (nurse) extern in the ER that we hired. She goes to IUPUI and said to get into her accelerated BSN program she had a 4.0 from her previous degree and the lowest they took was a 3.8- for which she says was because they were still doing interviews.
It's crazy to think how many people want to become nurses, especially with the saturated market, reduced pay such as IU health cutting evening shift diffs, and St Vincent planning a large lay-off that was announced in the news last Thursday (5/23).

Are you sure it was for accelerated? When I was accepted last Fall, they don't do interviews just GPA. Don't worry about it...our lowest was a 3.77
Yup she's in her last year. She said she was the last class to have interviews. She said they are using the TEAS now. What is an avg score for the ABSN program?
For Fall 2012, we didn't have to take the TEAS or interview...I'm thankful for that!! We just filled out an application, calculated our GPA and wrote an essay.
That's awesome! I really want to do my RN to BSN at IUPUI. Many a great nurses have come from there!!
It's a great program...I definitely think that IU Health really give IUPUI students a lot of opportunity compared to any other nursing school in Indy. They have a special scholarship for ABSN ($15,000 with a 2 year commitment)

Hey! Where did you hear that? that would be awesome, though I haven't gotten anything just yet
I am in the ABSN program now. I am in my 6th semester out of 8. The talk about it the first semester but they only accept 20 applicants (and we have 40 in our class). Its not a very good deal for people that get the scholarship and commute because the two year obligation is only for downtown hospitals.
I got my acceptance letter today! Yay! I'll have to do the CPR training for sure...
Congrats! If you have any questions, I might be able to help!
Thanks! I'll definitely take you up on that if anything comes to mind.
