IUPUI Accelerated BSN 2013

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

Hi all! Anyone applying for the IUPUI Accelerated BSN program in Indianapolis for this fall? I've just sent in my application- I'd love to talk to others who have as well!

So excited :D

Whoa we can already register? Yeah I was thinking block one or block two!

Did you just do ti through Onestart? In the packet it says we can't until Jun 21, I wonder why it would say that?

Yes I did it through Onestart, I read first on that sort of checklist of next steps that room had been reserved in the classes that I would need to register for so I searched for and added the classes (starting with the Science and Technology Nursing Practicum as the directions said to do.) After I went through the forms again the next day I did actually notice where it was written that registration would open at that specific range during June, but I had already been able to get in.... so I'm hoping it's all good. I've seen on these boards for other classes sometimes students don't have access to register for the classes right away, depending on their status at IUPUI so maybe all of us should have access by then? But I'll definitely be checking on June 21st to be sure! I'm so excited to get started :)

I'm so glad you mentioned it! I got registered luckily.

Hey, okay so I do have a question about tuition- what has it been for you so far for the first few semesters? I was trying to use the tuition calculator on IUPUI's site to figure out how much to budget for but it seems too low...

I was definitely able to enroll in my classes for the first semester already despite the start date posted on my acceptance packet. I have a theory that I was technically an active student at IU last semester so I already had access to an active onestart account but this is just a theory. I am so excited to be accepted and enrolled and congratulations to everyone who got in! Block 1 here sargent46!

For Fall 2012, the semester costed $6,663.68. Hope that helps!

Yikes! So expensive. Have you been able to get many scholarships/loans to help? I'm still waiting to hear on aid from the school, but i did apply for all the scholarships they offer.

The program is expensive. I graduated from it in 2011 with about $32,000 in loans. I didn't owe a penny from my first degree, so yeah, when I look at the student loan statement from that program, I'm floored. Glad I made the career change, but wish school wasn't so darn expensive!

Yeah, I'm really hoping to find some scholarships. Jeeez. Can I ask if you found a good job quickly, and were you happy with the program?

I had a job lined up before graduation, and most of my classmates did as well. I recommend getting a PCI (student nurse) job when you are able to do so. If you want a hospital job anyway. IU Health tends to hire from their PCI pool. It is a good program.
