not sure of I can post this here, but here it is, trying to get support and help for people that have completed ITT Breckinridge Nursing program but have yet to score an 850 on their exit Hesi therefore they are not allowed to sit for boards. This is unfair seeing that some of these students have 3.7 GPA's and some of the students that graduated, passed the Hesi did not pass their NCLEX

is itt tech a scam? explain.

Hi I attended at itt-tech in Kentucky I saw your post just now but I know that it has been almost a year since the last time you posted, however Im in the same situation that you are or you were. When I started going to Itt tech I was not told about the hesi exit not after we finished our last semester. Many student had to take the hesi exit 8 times in order to pass it and some of us still not passing the hesi exit yet. After my third tried had to do remediation which I took med surg and pharmacology again with both hesis and I got score of 97 on my Med Surg and over 800 on the hesi and in Pharmacology I finished with 80 and over 900 in my Hesi, so that means that I already know the material, but we were not prepared like other schools for the hesi exit, which is not only about knowing the material but also knowing how to split the questions to answer them correctly. It is so frustrating, my diploma is being held by the school, but the hardest part of it is that the school let us graduate without giving us the diploma. Can someone hear our voices, help please help. I have a loan waiting for me to pay back and I cant.

so what i heard/read has some merit to it...

i am fortunate my campus did not require a minimum. faculty fabricated some random HESI grading scale... i cannot understand how

900 of the 1200 possible points = 100%

600 of 1200 = 30%

so... if 10 points are allocated to the HESI and you score 900, you receive 10/10 points. if you get a 600, you get 3/10 points. i feel for those "borderliners"

NOTE: i am not sure what the maximum is, but you get my drift.

interesting

Wow, this seriously freaks me out. I'm so glad my school doesn't participate in this nonsense. Gosh,

I can't imagine going through all the pain and anxiety of nursing school and not finish because

of one test.

Study hard, guys!

unfortunately, at the university I attended we had to score 900 and had 6 attempts to pass the exam or else you were not eligible to sit for boards, nor would you receive your degree. Luckily, I passed with 1031 on my first attempt. Learn the bare minimum for the exam and how to read the question, as it is and the rest will take care of itself.

Good Luck!!!

Hi all. My school uses ATI and we must pass the exit predictor test with a 75% or higher to get out of the program. I am nervous because we took a baseline predictor the first day of class this term and I got a 45%. Horrible! We take the real exam on March 6th and if we don't pass it the first time we get one more chance finals week. And if you fail it again you must retake the class. I need to pass because I am so done with school. I have been doing many practice tests, so hopefully it helps.

I just joined this site but I would not recommend ITT's nursing program. When I started the program they told us we had nine tries to pass the Hesi, by the time I was half way through with the program they changed the policy to three tries and we were not properly prepared. I finished all my classes in Sep of 2013 and have yet to pass the hesi. So I do NOT have my diploma, student loans are calling left and right and I'm in debt up to my eyeballs because of ITT.

At the school that i attended WCUI in Ontario California ( southern cali ) tells you up front everything that you will have to do in order to graduate and take the nclex , for my school you must score 850 score on the hesi and you have 4 tries because there are 4 tests V1-4 i did not pass my HESI exit exam until the 4th and last chance with a 966, every test is different so it is very hard if you are not prepared for it . Schools get funding by how many students pass the Nclex on the first attempt ( 2 school got shut down in California because the school had a 47% nclex passing ) im so glad i picked the school i did which has a 90% passing rate which is waaay above the national average. I just sent in my paperwork to take the nclex im super excited all i can say is to keep on studying and not giving up, i really really doubt your school will change its policy regarding HESI . but good luck

Update: I did pass my ATI exit test with 82% so that gives me a 99% chance of passing NCLEX on the first try. This was to get out of my RN program. My school has an LPN program (I didn't obtain it from this college) but they now require a 900 on the Hesi exit to pass. Initially when I wanted to attend the RN program their requirement was to pass the LPN Hesi exit test and it was an 850. I never made it that high. Luckily they changed the entrance policy and was able to get in another way. There were some people from ITT at one of the places I did clinicals at and I don't know anything about their program except I think it is extremely expensive.

Hi Nikkinism70s

I do not think the ITT Tech exit policy is unfair UNLESS you were not informed about it before you started your porgram..

I'm so glad I'm through with that bs the hesi is not fair I almost went crazy because I could not pass it a few months back I passed all my ati tests and my regular tests I was a perfect student, but was not able to get the 850 it took me 5 tries and I finally got a 900 it's crazy that for rn you need a 950 that's the only reason why I don't want to do rn because I know how hard that's going to be anyhow I already took my nclex pn 1 week ago and I think I passed good luck
