not sure of I can post this here, but here it is, trying to get support and help for people that have completed ITT Breckinridge Nursing program but have yet to score an 850 on their exit Hesi therefore they are not allowed to sit for boards. This is unfair seeing that some of these students have 3.7 GPA's and some of the students that graduated, passed the Hesi did not pass their NCLEX

Hi, Im a nursing student at Rhode Island College in Providence, RI, and I am also being denied my degree due to "failing" the HESI exit exam. Nowhere in the student handbook does it say anything about the HESI at the end of the program, nor does it say anything about the benchmark score set by the college. I am devastated that this is happening to me, as I'm sure you are as well. There has got to be a way that we can put a stop to this at a national level. I am trying to retain a lawyer to represent me against my college, but it's so expensive, and it seems as though not many lawyers have any experience with this matter at all. This is not right, and I feel your pain!!

I think that the Hesi should be eliminated because it only brings more stress and anxiety to the student I believe that everybody that finishes nursing school feel a relief that they are one more step to finish with the stressful process that the nursing school causes and they feel more encourage to get prepared for the bord exam. Someone has to do something because it is not fair that for some of the school is not required to pass thte Hesi and for other are, it is not fair when the school does not prepare you for this type of exam and you ended up with no diploma and a big loan. This is really sad

I know how you feel in regard to this matter, it is very unfair that the school does not prepare their student for the Hesi and then wait at the end of the quater to let them know that they have to take the Hesi. This is very frustrated.

5th Quarter student at Breckinridge here. I was told on day one that an 850 was required on the exit HESI in order to graduate. The problem on our campus is that the individual course HESI exams only require a 700 or 750 to pass and this translates to an inability to make a passing score on the exit HESI. Our department chair actually encourages anyone who did not score an 850 on their course HESI exams to retake them until they do score well.
