ITT Tech nursing?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Does anyone recommend it? Hate it? Should stay away? I've been accepted, and thinking of declining due to so many mixed reviews.

Has anyone one there?

Graduated from the online BS program?

Hi everyone,

I am currently in the process of enrolling in ITT Tech's nursing program. I have seen a lot of bad reviews, but I believe in making the best out of any situation. Yes, their program is expensive, but if you already have your pre reqs done the cost can be lowered a couple of thousands. The use of pell grants, scholarships, and loans will be beneficial as well. There are also resources out there that will forgive loans for nurses. If you want to wait years to achieve your goals then that's up to you, but I'm ready to be the best nurse I can be now. Also ITT Tech does have a BSN program that is offered online.

I feel that people should do what's best for them. I'm attending Carrington College and yes it's pricey but over half is covered already. Plus I don't have any pre reqs done and don't want to wait years to finish or another year to just try to get into a program.

do you like it there? would you reccomend someone to go?

Specializes in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.

Do you plan on furthering your education beyond a Bachelor's to get a MSN, DNP, or PhD in nursing? ITT Tech is not accredited by NLNAC or CCNE and most Master's programs require that your pre-lisensure education be from an accredited school. Going to an accredited school for a RN-BSN school doesn't change that.

Does anyone recommend it? Hate it? Should stay away? I've been accepted, and thinking of declining due to so many mixed reviews.

I go to itt okc, it cost alot but it depends on how bad you want it, this my second year and i feel like i am learning. you must be commited like any other program, it is accredited and i can work any where i want. most of the instructors have a MSN. its ok for me

I recently graduated from the Kentucky program. It is not a program for the faint at heart. It is very intense since it is not a 5 day a week all day event. I loved the way that the program was set up because it allowed me to continue to work full time as well as complete the program and the clinicals in a time that was convenient for me. The pass rate is not high because an 84% is the bar, and the exit hesi score is 850. You must have both of these in order to graduate. In the class that I started with there where about 40 of us. At graduation only 8 walked. And there where about 10 that where required to repeat some courses because they did not pass the exit hesi with a 850 or better. It is expensive, but isn't nursing. Iwork now and am in the process of getting my BSN to MSN fast track. And yes, they accepted all of my credits and also I did sit for boards and I am working as a RN. (At TWO places).:)

I graduate friday you guys cant wait. I hope that you all who are considering going to Itt made the decision based on whats best for you. I honestly feel you can not put a price on education. The program was not easy and honestly yes, I had to repeat a few courses but hey I made it. The staff wants you to make it, and are willing to go the extra mile. The last semester was the toughest with the exit hesi and all we get three tries and if you dont pass no you dont graduate. It is very nerve racking and this exam is nothing you can study for. It took me all three tries before passing which is gut wrenching but my last try I made an 1120. I got an standing ovation after but the stoneface after I completed which almost killed me. I just knew I failed, I am looking forward to boards and all. They even payed for our kaplan review course and materials on line as well. YES itt is expensive but I believe this was the best program better than my experience in Lpn school. I wouldn't trade this experience for the world.

I graduate friday and like your program we started with 40 and only seven will graduate.

In my state its new and students can take the NCLEX after graduation.

I just do not trust that school!

Update im now a graduate of ITT we graduated December 20th 2013 so if you guys have questions I'll try my best to answer. I'll also keep you posted when I take the nclex and how they prepared us. They payed for Kaplan review class for us as well as the trainers and book we still have acess to. It was a mandatory class prior to graduation and they included a pacing scheldule and goal to be reach prior to the nclex all on line.
