  1. I recently graduated from the Kentucky program. It is not a program for the faint at heart. It is very intense since it is not a 5 day a week all day event. I loved the way that the program was set up because it allowed me to continue to work full time as well as complete the program and the clinicals in a time that was convenient for me. The pass rate is not high because an 84% is the bar, and the exit hesi score is 850. You must have both of these in order to graduate. In the class that I started with there where about 40 of us. At graduation only 8 walked. And there where about 10 that where required to repeat some courses because they did not pass the exit hesi with a 850 or better. It is expensive, but isn't nursing. Iwork now and am in the process of getting my BSN to MSN fast track. And yes, they accepted all of my credits and also I did sit for boards and I am working as a RN. (At TWO places).:)
  2. I work rehab therapy/LTC. There are times when I do get lunch breaks and other times that they are not the reality. I've learned that the coworkers who get smoke breaks often get lunches in. But in times when I eat standing it is horrible because I just have may well not eaten. And in the times that I do not eat it is often made up later by overeating at some other meal. Experience has taught me that even if you do not eat you need to take the break away from the floor. This provides you a mental rest if nothing else. And I never stay off the clock to somplete work, my education cost me so my time is very valuable in addition it takes time from my kids and that is invaluable. So I try to often have all of my things done by the end of my shift. I know that sometimes emergencies arise and must be handled so those of course are the exception.
  3. :DYou could not have said it better. Some things in nursing are just that plain to see!!!!
  4. Both parties. One for prescribing and the other for administering
  5. Could someone tell me about Ivy Tech--Sellersburg. (What the program is like?, Length of days, Buying books, Library access, etc...) Any and all information would be helpful. I applied for this program and heve been accepted to begin in the Summer but am wondering some of the finer points of the program. Thanks:bowingpur:bowingpur
