It's So Hard to Look for a Local Job!!!!

World Philippines

I recently passed the nclex. I'm so thankful to allnurses, the information here helped me a lot to pass it. Since I reviewed and concentrated on the exam, I resigned from my teaching job. Now it's so hard to look for a job opening for staff nurses here. Even trainings are no longer available. I need to earn and save for IELTS. I'm so tempted to apply at a call center company. Any suggestions? I've been to every hospital that I know (UST, St. Lukes, Chinese, UDMC, Amang, Marikina Valley, Heart center, NKTI, Lung center, V. Luna, PGH) I live in fairview qc. There are offers for volunteer nurse at south superhighway medical center in paranaque but I can't afford to work there!!!! No salary, and its too far...Its so depressing.:banghead:

For those who applied at St. Lukes, did you pass your resume via dropbox at the nursing dept? I passed my resume last june at the nursing dep. dropbox but I haven't received a call from them.

When will the next batch of trainees for the St. Luke's - Global City be trained?

heres the problem for us filipino nurses here in the philippines,

1.salary

2.age discrimination

3.for many, how did you get your diploma?

4.retrogression and strict immigration laws in some or many countries(wish you luck..)

5.many of these working nurses "pay" to work!

I totally agree. My friend went to the PGH yesterday to get requirements for the training of new nurses who wants to work in PGH. They said we have to pay P6,000 for the training of 6months and they would hire nurses depending on the result of the training. I am a 2nd courser, as much as possible i want to earn money already. So now that i have received my certificate of passing, i want to apply as nurse staff in a hospital that would give training with PAY/ALLOWANCE. but then again, do hospitals hire now? i was hearing news that hospitals are now freezehiring :( so where would i go?

woah...6 months of training is way too long. they are taking advantage of us helpless nurses. the situation here in our country is getting really, really frustrating day by day. but i am not giving up. hope you are too.

Specializes in ICU.

you don't have to pay anything for the training. they will be the one to pay you. i'm not that sure if it's 75% of the starting salary. but i'm sure that you don't have to pay anything for the training.

pgh is open in accepting trainees depending on their schedule. call pgh and ask to be connected to dnet. be ready with your tor & board ratings during the screening. i hope you got 80% & above with your nle, during our batch cut off was 82%. i've just finished the training called apcn (advancement program on clinical nursing) and we had our graduation last week of july (luckily, i got the top 1 award for the batch.. :chuckle). it costs 8,000; lasts for 6 months: 1st 4 months you will be rotated in the ms, pedia, & ob charity wards & payward; last 2 months will be on the specialty ward of your choice. i trained in the er, also got my ivtt, bls & acls training there simultaneously with the apcn. i gained a lot during my training at pgh. not only confidence in my skills & knowledge but also gained many friends as well. if you're up for the best training in the philippines, i suggest go for pgh. i've made a friendster account named apcn dem and you can view our pictures.. you can also view graduation video of previous apcn batch 21 on youtube to give you an idea. good luck to us all.. :wink2:

glad to hear that they don't charge RNs for trainings as compared to others, even volunteering has a fee..
