To start my nursing classes already lol I turn 24 today and feel like I should have already been done with nursing and should have been started working in a hospital right now lol but hey life doesn't always work out the way you planned it. I was wondering how many credits is your program for you to graduate? Mines is a BSN 2 year and 180 credits. It's mostly 4 years 2 year prereqs and the other 2 year nursing courses. Do tell me about your program? I've heard from some 180 credits is ridiculous and others that's too little.

Happy birthday! I know it feels like you're *so* old, but you'll likely be one of the younger ones in your program. I'm almost 34, and I'm in the middle in my class, and the class above mine, I believe the median age was probably 38.
Life DEFINITELY likes to make its own path sometimes. Believe me when I say I know! :)
I couldn't even tell you how many units including prereqs, but our BSN program is 15 units per semester (4 semesters).
Good luck with school!

Happy Birthday. I hope you have many more. I do not know how many hours are needed for graduation now, but I wanted to let you know I started nursing at age 45. I expected to work another 20 years so why not do what I wanted?

Happy Belated Birthday!! And don't feel bad, I'll be 42 in two days and I won't be starting nursing until Fall 2014! All in God's time.

I started my nursing classes the end of last August, two weeks before my 44th birthday.

I'm 37. Will be 38 when I graduate. Age means nothing. I feel lucky I have so much perspective and focus. I'm not sure I would have straight out of high school. So happy birthday!!!! And be proud that you've started the journey now. :-)
Thnk you all for the birthday wishes and wonderful comments, I am sorry I haven't replied earlier because I have been away from allnurses.
