Oh, yes,I am smiling!!. We actually had a good time doing it. The back rub was awesome. You know what felt great for me,was when she washed my hands. She placed the pan of water by my hand and then put my hands in it.All I can say is wow! It was ,so relaxing. We had to make a mit with our cloth, did anyone else do that, what a good idea. I am amazed at how much I am learning. Now I look forward to starting clinical. Thank you everyone for being so supportive.
Wow! I can't believe they have you do that! Well, I think it is probably a good thing, like GatorSN said, to help you realize how uncomfortable it is for patients. I agree about washing the hands, although I've never had that done to me, but, I have always had my patients make comments about that part of the bath, when I put their hands in the water basin.

I currently work parttime as a home health tech. I was TERRIFIED of giving a bed bath w/o my instructor standing right there to "hold my hand" and tell me what I was doing wrong/right etc. However, it is now a breeze! The nice thing, it has helped to build up my confidence in knowing that I really want to go on and become the nurse. I havent' gotten to clinicals yet (next spring) but can't wait. :)
