Wow, I have been stressing for about a month now about school. I was going to go night classes at a Comm. College, then because I have too many credit hours, the CC financial aid wouldn't pay. So then I returned to the university that I really wanted to go to anyway, but days. So I had to find a sitter, although I am not working, and no income. My husband works, but not enought to pay a sitter. Sooo, I got a loan to cover expenses. Then A&P that is a prereq to EVERYTHING is full. I kept logging on to the online registration waiting for an opening. I get 25 attempts to log on. Well, after using 23 of them (!!!) an opening finally came up, but no lab. So on my 25th try, a lab is open.

The good parts - I found a wonderful sitter, I am back in the school that I really wanted, and today I got a voucher from the school, an "advance" on my financial aid to use at the bookstore to cover my books!!

So if this isn't a message from God telling me to overlook all the crappy things I will encounter, I don't know what is!

Thanks for listening to my rambling, but I think things may finally be falling into place, and I am so excited!:roll

Wow! Congrats... I know how you feel. I'm working full time so I had planned on taking classes in the evening. As a precaution, I had applied at two CC's... well by the time I was allowed to register (I am a "returning" student) all the evening Chem classes were full! I wanted to cry... I had orginally registerd for the prereq to the LVN program but changed my mind knowing that I would never be satisfied with that. So I need to take all the pre-reqs for the RN prog (chem, A&P, and micro), but I found a contract program in the area and was feeling really great up until the point where I couldn't get a class!!! I had such a hard time making the LVN v. RN decision this made me feel like I had made the wrong decsion!!!! But, I took a chance at the encouragement of my DH and signed up for a day class and to my surprise my boss said- that it was ok and that she was proud of me and she is willing to work around my schedule!!! I can still work full time!!! I was so happy I did cry... at work!!!! So, now I know I made the right decision!!! I too, feel like God is making the way for me... best of luck!!!

I was just reading another one of your posts. Can I be nosey? I noticied you have three kids... I do too. I'm 27, and they are 7,3, and 8 mos... I know that I - at first felt like I wanted to do this ASAP! I really struggled with the LVN vs. RN thing too. Do you ever feel really overwhemled with all the decsion making? I know I start thinking... "the next few years of my life are dependant on the decisions I make this week!" and it's really hard to decide on everything...So, how old are your little ones? Have you considered an ADN? I mean, why the BSN? Which area of nursing are you considering? I spent all day Monday in an NICU w/ a friend from high school.... I was absolutlet facinated!!!! She said, "have you bought your book for that LVN program?" I said no, she said "that's because your still not sure huh?" I said yes... she knew that I was just just trying to rush things... she said that if I reallt wanted to be an RN then THAT is what I should do... so that explains chem...

Boy, I'm really long winded today... I've missed the bb for about a week now... It feels good to know I have somewhere to go to "spill my guts"... thanks...

I am going with the BSN because I attended college years ago, and I only needed 4 prereq's before getting into nursing school. So it wouldn't have been any advantage for me to go any other way. I am 32, three daughters, ages 8, 5, and 2. And yes, I analyze EVERYTHING everyday. I feel so overwhelmed with life in general right now! I ask my husband a million questions about everything, and he is going crazy too!

OMG!! My husband too!!! They are going to need a support group too! He gets so confused sometimes with all the "lingo". Did you get your BS/A before? I was three classes away from an Associates in Business, but I hated the core classes I did really well in everything else though ... LOL! I just know I dont want to spend the rest of my life in an office(it just isn't me) and what really got me started was when I was explained to my 6yo dd how important college and a career were even if you wanted to be a mommy... she asked when I graduated from College and I had to admit I hadn't she asked why and I said cause I was so busy having you and your brother's that I hadn't finished... she reminded me that I had told her that someone could go to college and be a mommy too... so I decided that I had to practice what I preach! and here we are... I wish I had done this sooner...

My husband thinks I am crazy also. The decision making is driving us all crazy. One minute I think I should one thing and the next another. I can't wait to start school so I will quit thinking I should change my mind. I've already starting my homework for my classes. I plan to get my ADN and then work part-time and continue on for the BSN.

Good Luck!!

Well, I emailed the professor, he emailed me back, and said that they opened up each lab for one more person, so I QUICKLY logged onto the school website and enrolled right then, got into the lab I wanted! Yeah!
