unquestionably, nursing is a love/hate relationship the stress and the demands of our profession makes it difficult to deal with at times and let's not even talk about the bureaucracy of the politics involving this profession. however, then there are the times that you hear a patient, or a family member regard to you as their angel while their are thanking you for your care and the love of the profession fills your heart once again:redbeathe
I absolutely love nursing and caring for my patients. I hate the Press Gainey, Medicare/Medicaid changes that take needed $$ from the hospitals from ignorant patient surveys. I can be so nice and wonderful and completely dangerous as a nurse that I can kill you, but nice with blankets and snacks will win you over, while saving your loved one goes unnoticed. That is my beef.

Is it possible to love my job and all that comes along with it, but sometimes hate it, too? I know hate is a strong word and I honestly don't know if that is the word I really want to use in this instance. When I have nights that all of my patients are needy and call lights ring like crazy and it takes forever to get charting done and you have no charge nurse and you're short staffed.....it makes me think I hate my job, and I don't like that feeling =O(.
