I've found a community college that does not have Chemistry as a pre-req for Biology, Microbiology, or A&P 1&2.
Is that unusual to be able to take A&P without Chem?
needless to say I'll be excited if I can skirt my way around taking Chem
I've not heard of any program that would allow taking a science with nursing classes. It would be very difficult since nursing is also a science. Go ahead & take the Chem so you can have it under your belt and next time you get confronted with it, you can say with confidence,"Oh I took that already." I ran away from Algebra for ten years and then finally when I just could'nt take being an LPN anymore, I just took it. It turns out that I'm great in Algebra and I will never doubt myself again. Best of Luck to you.
If chemistry is not your strong point, then research your professor BEFORE you sign up for his or her class. There are websites out there in which students basically rate their professors (aka, who is easy, who is hard, etc). Pick an 'easy' teacher. I hate to offer this kind of advice but sometimes you've gotta do what you gotta do in order to pass.

Chem was a pre-req for my Accelerated BSN program. I was not looking forward to it, but I had a first-rate prof, who made all the difference.

We had to take it in my AA program. Chem, API and APII were all mandatory. Just take it and get it out of the way. It's really not bad at all.
