I'm about finishing up my prerequisites this semester. I think you could definitely finish all your prerequisites in 1 year. It took me a little bit longer because I took 2 classes every semester including summer and winter semester.
My pre reqs were algebra, English comp, statistics, AP 1, AP 2, general chem, organic chem, psycho101, Psych human growth and development, genetics, nutrition and microbiology.
I would highly recommend summer and winter courses since they are shorter than a regular semester. You get the same 3-4credits in 5-7weeks compared to 4-5months in the fall/ spring.

Pre-reqs took me 3 semesters, essentially. I had some previous school (another AAS, 2 professional certificates, and roughly 104 total credits), so, I was looking to finish the few generals I had left as well, before core courses. Starting in fall 2016, I took General A&P along with developmental psych. Spring 2017, I took Advanced A&P and Microbiology. THAT semester was tough since I was working full time as well. I finished my CNA during the summer, took my HESI entrance exam, and that got me on the waiting list. Fall 2017 I took EMT-Basic (getting my license back after a lapse) along with Intro to Psych (backwards, I know). I was supposed to start core nursing courses in the Fall 2018, but, someone quit spring semester, so, I got pulled off of the waiting list and I started them a few weeks ago. I'll graduate in December of 2019...
One thing to remember about that is that those short classes are usually one big cram session--information overload and serious time management. Good prep for core nursing courses, if you want to look at it that way...

Totally, and don't forget to make use of summer sessions! Can get a good deal done during the summer!

Depends on how many courses you need to take and what else you have going on in life. It took me 2.5 years of part-time school to get through my pre-reqs, I was also working and dealing with personal life issues during that time. I could have finished them in 1-1.5 years if I'd had the time and money to study full-time. It helps I had a prior college degree, so I didn't need to take many general ed courses, just the nursing pre-reqs.
Have you met with an adviser to map a plan of study? This can help a lot, as they can help you map out which courses to take when so you keep moving forward in the program, and don't have to sit out a term because of not taking a pre-req or not realizing a class is only offered every other quarter.

Yes it's do-able if you can go fulltime and especially if you can pick up summer classes and even better if you have some classes you can transfer in. Having said that, it won't be easy; it's a lot of work - but worth it!

I think I got really lucky with my school but I was also limited because of my military benefits. I was following an Allied Health degree plan because all of the prerequisites were in that degree plan and I was taking between 6-8 classes every semester. I took 75% of the classes online since I was also working full time. Managed to get all of my classes and my degree completed in a year.

Thank you very much for your advice everyone .I will start slow at first by taking 2 or 3 classes next semester then I will try winter semester and summer as well ; I also like that this will be good practice for nursing school .

I finished mine in 5 semesters BUT I scored so low on the math portion of my compass that I had to start at MAT55 then progress through 65, 85, then the 150 which was the only one I had to have for the program, I just had to work my way up to it. And my last semester before starting the program was also only for 1 class. My advisor also had me doing like 3 classes I didn't even need for the ADN program. If you don't need the supplemental math then you should certainly be able to do you prereq's in that time. I will have 4 1/2 years in my ADN!!
I do not need the supplemental math the first math so this makes me very happy .

It can be if you do the "easy" classes together and take classes in the summer. By "easy" I mean whatever you don't struggle with, so maybe math/english/communications/psychology is one semester anatomy/chem is another micro/socio/pol-sci is another and history/physio is the last depending on what your requirements are. Good luck!
