I would say this is tacky, but I am not a nurse yet. I would never do it though. I think business attire is appropriate for interviews, regardless of the profession.

the convential wisdom is no but everyone I know that did it got hired
That my thoughts exactly, I never wore scrubs to an interview. I would feel too out of place. I think my friend maybe left out a something, like maybe she told them she was coming from work.
I'm starting to think maybe that is one of the reason she was hired more place than me.:rotfl:

I wouldn't wear scrubs. I don't think that you need to wear a suit, but I would wear a nice pair of pants and nice shirt or sweater. It's just more professional and shows that you have class.

I wore scrubs to an interview once...Got hired, too. When they called to scheduled the interview, I explained I would be coming straight from work and asked if it mattered if I came to the interview in my scrubs. They said scrubs would be fine.

I was told by one of my nursing instructors a long time ago that it is fine to wear scrubs to an interview as long as they are clean, and pressed. She said it is acceptable to wear to the interview, what you will be wearing to work there. I have worn them on a lot of interviews and I always was offered the job!

No way would I wear scrubs to an interview. For an entry level position, I may not wear a suit. However, I would be dressed professionally. So often, we nurses complain that we aren't taken seriously and are not perceived as professionals. I think that it starts from the second we walk in the door, the second that we recite our oath as nurses to present ourselves as the respected profession that we are.
My little soapbox.....

It depends on the job you are applying for. I personally would never do it, I like to dress nicely for things like that. For a floor nurse, it probably doesn't matter, but I don't see why you'd want to wear scrubs. Sunday best is a classier option.
