Is Nursing a really difficult course to take? What qualities must one have to succeed in Nursing course?
Just wondering why you hated OB/Pediatrics...was just a personal (non) preference or was there something else that made you dislike it?
Didn't like the teacher and I didn't care for the subject matter. Not my preferred area of specialty. One of my other instructors knew how I felt about it so she made sure I spent 2 days in L&D/Nursery/Post-Partum.... I made A's in all other classes, but I pulled a even 75 in that one and I was dang proud of it .

Sorry, I am rather confused about what the OP is asking, particularly in light of previous posts:

I am planning to apply to university to do nursing. I applyed last year but failed to get in as I had to research more the role of a nurse. I now have that much information on the role but would like to ask "What you think the general role of a nurse is"?
Dated June 14, 2010:
What are the best hospitals to work at in Austin? I'm graduating with my BSN in May and I'm looking for a nursing internship program in a critical care unit in Austin. I know that Seton and St. Davids are both good hospitals, but what are my other options? I'm moving for the DFW area and the fact that there are only a couple good hospital systems there kind of scares me. I'm used to having lots of options.
I am not certain if the OP is a pre-nursing student asking general questions, someone who is trying to get into a program or a current nursing student in a bachelor's degree program. Sorry to sound so cynical but these questions sort of sound like someone is asking us to do his or her homework here...
Hmmnnn. I don't know anyone who thought the Nursing Program was easy. Many factors need to be taken into consideration. Some examples of these are your strengths, weaknesses, obligations, family, job, finances etc. I personally would not under estimate the level of work/ study required to be a successful student. There are many qualities that are needed to be a great nurse. Note you can become a nurse, by completing the program successfully, and passing the nclex. I don't think you just want to be a nurse. You want to be a competent, caring, compassion, nurturing, reliable, dedicated, team player, honest, and any other attribute that would make you a great nurse. Some of those qualities you can learn but the majority should already be embedded in you..... Good luck&much success ! ! :)
