Is it just me? Or is this the nursing school homework hotline?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Come on all you nursing students. It seems like q night when I come to this sight, someone is asking for nurses to do your homework. I would be more than glad to help anyone out that is having a problem, but when it looks like you copied your homework assignment onto a new post, that's not right. Please at least try to do your homework in the conventional way...re: school books, reference material, the internet. The only way to learn is to study and search for the answers. Then if you really can't seem to get a handle on it we would all be more than glad to lend a helping hand. Twentyone years ago it was me and my books...no computers. Come on I know you can do it!

Wow!!!! You go MUD... "Real Nurse" what a grumpy "out of the times" *****!!!! Either get with the times, and accept todays technology, or retire.... it sounds to me like you're way past due!!!! Maybe a little jealous that you didn't have such an amazing world of knowledge at your fingertips? Maybe you should realize that it will be these young, inquisitive, new generation nurses, trying to better themselves... taking care of you...

Thanks Heather!! I did my best. It is people like that who drive young people away from the profession...I should know, I am one of those young people, and have had my fair share of dealing with this crap!!! Enough is enough!!

GOOOOOOOOOO MUD!

There are times when a student just NEEDS the answer.

Did you ever notice in nursing school when you were so focused on trying to properly draw up an I.M. from the bottle, and your teacher would be standing there asking you about possible side effects of the drug??? That is what is referred to as 'educational noise.' That is not the time to ask the question [theoretically, before the student was in the process of preparing the dose, that's when the teacher should have asked].

Yes, students should go back and read to enhance what advice we give. But, there are times when a student NEEDS the answer NOW. I am honored that nursing's future feel that they could come and ask us. I encourage anyone at any time to post, and if I know the answer, I will tell you---if I don't, I will look it up [because it may be good for me to know, too].

I am truly sorry if I offended anyone. I think if you read my post it was very sincere, and kind. I would bend over backwords to help anyone who has a problem. I am so glad that their is a place such as this for nursing students to go for help. Wish it existed when I was a student. All I said was I wanted people to try to do their work, never said I wouldn't help a fellow nurse, be it a student or practicing nurse. Please anyone who I upset go back and read what I originally wrote and see if you really think I was being unkind. Never ate our young...usually I was the one being eaten.

Realnursealso,

If you really were trying to be kind the I am truly sorry. I do hope though that you realize that you were in fact lumping all students together. The few rotten apples shouldn't spoil the vinyard (well, it made sense in my head!). I am glad to hear you are not one of the young-eaters smile.gif

OOPS! I meant to say ORCHARD!

I am sure glad to hear that. You must realize though, we all took your posting the same way, so....... We young nurses need the support of the seasoned ones. You have alot to offer. Please be kind!!

I know the post that Realnurse is refering to and it was some pretty blatant, "What's the diagnosis?" questions.

Here is a site for care plans I found helpful during my last semester: http://www.iun.edu/~libemb/nursing/careplan.htm

I am going into the ADN program and will be coming here to ask questions I am sure, but I do have a point to make....my personal opinion and if this offends others in school I am sorry...why would you go to a message board where you don't know anyone personally and ask for an answer to one of the questions that you could find the answer for yourself with much more satisfaction? And not to offend the nurses, but students what if you got the wrong answer? These are things I would be concerned with....It is always better to do these things yourself and you will learn it better, not to mention the resources you may be able to use later in your studies that you may find while looking for that "one" answer....Just my 2 cents

I am a nursing student and graduate in May. I come to the BB often for help! I don't expect bb to do my assignment but I come on here for opinions, advice, and help. Just because you didn't have internet when you were in nursing school therefor everyone else shouldn't use it to help them get through it? Maybe my learning style isn't like yours. After all that's what makes each and everyone of us different and that's what makes the world go round. I don't see many post asking for them to do their homework, the post are asking for help. You obviously don't remember what nursing school was like
