Is this the good pop up?

Published

Alright so I took the NCLEX-RN yesterday, February 14th and it shut off at 155 or 156 I honestly don't remember and I know the number has nothing to do with indicating pass/fail. I wasn't sure if I was gonna try the Trick since I read lately it's been taking peoples money even if they passed. Well my husband had an old visa gift card and I punched in the info, went to click submit and this pop up said "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time." Is this the good pop up that may indicate I passed?? Thanks for your help :)

Hi!! I just took mine yesterday too! My computer shut off at 75 and I am FREAKING OUT! I hope it's true that we don't have to wait actual "business days" and that we can access our results Monday morning... I don't know much longer I can wait! Also, I heard the Pearson Vue trick doesn't really work any more... I don't want to try it in fear that I may get the "bad" pop-up and upset myself prematurely.. so I guess we will see. Good luck everyone!

It's not that the PVT doesn't work anymore; it works as well as it ever did, just differently than it did prior to late August 2014.

Without going into the details, all you really need to know is that you must wait 24 hours after completion of the exam (NOT from the time you started, from COMPLETION) to try the PVT if you are going to do it. You need to allow enough time for your test to be scored TWICE, which is required prior to release of the result.

If you do it too soon, you risk paying $200 for no reason; you also risk believing you passed when you might have failed.

Wait at least 24 hours, and if you CANNOT register for another exam at that point, it's assumed you passed.

As for QR, it's 48 consecutive hours, not business hours :)

Hi, I took my exam too yesterday Feb 14 and stopped at 75 questions. I knew I passed when it went off because the questions seem so much easier than Kaplan's and I guest I was well prepared. I did the PVT yesterday and today it says "The Candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be created at this time." Anyway I am sure I pass put I just want to see it for sure! What is the difference between the "test being on hold" with "our records indicate......?" is it the same thing? Maybe different states say it differently?

I tested on Feb 14 8am and the computer shuts off at 76Q. Had 15 or more SATA, 4-5 drag/drop, 1 exhibit, the rest were prioritization. I was so afraid to try the PVT until I gathered some courage to give it a try to have some peace of mind. Surprisingly, I GOT THE GOOD POP UP!!!

Our records indicates that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made this time.”

That's the good pop up right? I'm so happy right now!!!! Gave me somehow a relief to sleep sound and calm tonight. I hope this is 100% accurate!!! I'll be getting my quickresults tomorrow. I'll update you guys about the PVT.

RNsRWe post this on another thread in regards to a question about their results being on hold as well...

"A hold is placed on an exam for any number of reasons, and there are many: finishing exam quickly (which isn't your case, just mentioning it), glitches at the testing center, power issues, palm scan issues, numbers of breaks taken, even a problem with another tester's exam.

Holds typically take anywhere from 24-72 hours to be lifted; once the hold is lifted results will be available."

So it may not even be in regards to your exam but since you may have took it with other nclex takers, your results are on hold too.

Thank you! That makes sense though, because the person that sign us in could not get our signature. Something was wrong with the system/computer. The system was not taking the previous people's signature so she made some phone calls and then about 15 minutes later, she allowed us to take the exam without the signature but we had to sign our signature at the end on a paper.

Yup that's the culprit! Hopefully your hold is lifted soon! í ½í¸Š

The reason for the 24 hour wait is to ensure that your exam has been scored twice. That second scoring is definitive pass/fail and it can happen before the 24 hour mark is up. What I've seen here from some (relatively rare) posts is that someone gets a result from an immediate PVT and then another result between about 12 and 24 hours. I've never seen PVT results flip after 24 hours have passed.

The PVT simply takes advantage of a billing system that checks for pass/fail status as part of the exam scheduling process. If you have passed, it won't let you pay for another attempt, if you have failed (as of the most recent scoring of your exam), the system will attempt to collect payment for that next attempt.

Holds are an entirely different beast altogether and the system will tell you if there's a hold in place. That will also not allow you to reschedule an exam, but it'll say why... and it is not indicative of a pass or fail. A hold is very much neutral.

Is there an email sent telling us that our QR is available or do we just have to check ourselves at the 48hr mark?
