I was on the college of BC nurses and it said that effective Jan 2009, the cost of the CRNE will be 600$. Is this the same Canada wide, or is the cost of the CRNE dependant on what province you write it in? (If I wrote it in Alberta is it the same cost as Ontario, etc)?

BC's website is the only one that has been updated and it does indeed state that the exam fee will be $600. The other provinces' websites quote the following, but as I indicated, are referencing the 2008 exam dates:
Alberta $495
Saskatchewan $492.43
Manitoba $519.28
Ontario $421.97
Quebec does not write the CRNE
New Brunswick $513
Nova Scotia $502.34
Prince Edward Island $400
The fees are not set by the province but by the agency they use to administer the exam.

The cost for the exam in Ontario is 421.97 as of January 2009 (plus 49.07 for assessment fee).

As with other cost of living issues BC would have to be the most expensive. That is why we no longer can afford to live there.

this has been discussed in other threads in the international forum as well as Canadian forum. Regardless on where you trained or sat CRNE you will have to meet the new province requirements and they will decide on whether they will accept your application or whether you need to do any further assessments before they will issue you with a license

i've been collecting information with regards to fees and other differences between different provinces for registering as RN. I've been wondering if all their sites are updated.
Can anybody share a list of the Assessment, Exam, and Registration fees of the different provinces, specifically in Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Alberta? Thank you so much for the help.

The fees can easily be found on each of the province college websites
Your request would involve a lot of work on the part of some kind soul janels. You can gather all that information yourself, as silverdragon102 has said. It's all right there on the colleges' websites. Links to the Provincial Colleges of Nursing
Without any effort at all I can tell you that the 2011 registration fee in Alberta is $504... it's a hot topic right now because it just keeps going up and up, and they're demanding it earlier every year.
i did check out all their sites. i was just wondering if the websites are updated.
thank you for the information. :)
Typically they're kept up to date or close to it because they're always increasing fees and have to communicate that fact. With all the recent activity from IENs applying for registration and with three CRNEs a year, they need for people to know how much money to send in with their applications.
