It may depend on the employer - some seem to require it as a prerequisite to applying for a RN job, while others will provide BLS training once you're hired. ALSO NOTE that even if you spend the $$$ to get BLS certified yourself, your employer may require a different provider certification. I had Red Cross "professional lifesaver" (or whatever it's called) certification, but my employer requires American Heart Assn certification. As a result, I attended another fun filled 4 hour certification course. There are worse things in life!

Hi evryone,I just want to know that Is BCLS(CPR) certification is mandatory to start a job as RN.I've passed CRNE in june and Waiting for my MELAB test result.SO,I'm free now....want to utilize dis time.Plz reply me at your earliest from your great experience.Thanks in advance for your consideration.
