Is anyone else as tired as I am?

Published

Its only the second week of school and I am so worn out that I am shaking.

I went to work this evening after school was over and felt so bad that I had to come back home after only being there for 45 minutes.

I'm worried that I may not be able to handle school and work. I have to work, there is no getting around that, I have no choice. I am not willing to give up going to school though.

I get tired very easy and when I get over tired it makes me sick. I have always been this way and it SUCKS!!

I hope that I will soon get used going to school and working and start feeling better. I am going to BEG my boss to drop my hours from 25-30 down to about 12-15. I just don't think I can handle anymore than that. I have a full load at school (18 credit hours) this semester. I think that I will only take 12 or maybe 15 credits this spring.

My work schedule is never the same (and that wont change) so its not like I can really even get on a set schedule of going to bed at the same time every night. Anyone have any advice for me? I'm just so tired I could cry:crying2:

Is anyone else having problems with being totally worn out?

Wow, you sure do have a heavy load to be working. Many people can do it but some of us can't. Maybe youcan look into loans or grants or something. You may owe money after graduation but at least you will have time to study and relax a bit. :icon_hug: Hope it gets better.

If you really have to work, why don't you drop to 12 credit hours instead 18. That is just a lot even if you would not have a job. I don't know what your occupation is at this time, but I would also consider woking somewhere where you don't have to work physically hard. You can do it. ;)

Hi, I've been taking classes and working for years. It's doable. Pace yourself, take care of yourself and don't overload on classes. A physically demanding job is definitely something to avoid - you need your energy for your studies and clinicals. Some other things that have helped me to succeed is to ask my husband for help with grocery shopping, etc. and to move housecleaning chores to the bottom of the priority list (this was easy for me). Good luck to you - you can do it!

I wish that I could get an extra loan so that I wouldn't have to work but I have very bad credit (because of a recent divorce) and no one will give me a loan.

I have the Stafford loan to pay for classes but thats not credit based.

I not going to take so many credits next semester, but I hate to drop anything now. I guess I just figure theres only 13 weeks left this semester and I want to try to make it through. If I have to drop a class I guess that I would drop Chemisty and the lab. That would give me an entire day off from school. Hopefully it wont come to that though.

All I can say is that there are many of us in the same boat. :stone

If you feel that you cannot handle it then you might want to consider taking half of the credits you are taking. Don't stress yourself because then you are going to be tempted to quit school or just not being able to handle it.

Best wishes to you. :)

Luckily my job is not really that physically demanding.(other than I have to stand up all the time) I work for Clinique. I think its just that I'm already so tired that just having to go to work is almost too much period.

Thanks for the advice.:) I love school, I don't want to end up getting burned out, thats for sure. I will not take so many credits next semester. Thats for sure.

Although you're probably just running on overload, make sure you are eating healthy and getting adequate amounts of vitamins....and of course lots of water!

Your body needs the correct nutrients to do all that thinking! lol

If possible, take little power naps periodically.

Good luck and try not to get overwhelmed! I don't think I could work and take so many classes...I would go nuts. lol :)

During summer I was totally worned out and I wasn't working so you have a really heavy load on you. Just wanted to wish you luck and hope things get better! :)
