Is Anyone Applying For Or Has Applied For Csu Chico State Nursing Program???

Is anyone applying for or has applied for California State University, Chico State's nursing program? I'm planning on applying for spring 08 and just wanted to know what the cut off points were. I'm so nervous about the whole point system. I've calculated/estimated my total points and it seems like I should be somewhere in between 83-85/100 points. Does anyone know if that's good enough? I highly doubt that's good enough to get me in. I'm just sooooo stress out about never getting in a nursing program soon.

o ok, thats cool!:)Gosh, thnx for all the useful info! this helps ALOT! gosh, I cant wait to go to chico, i just hope i get in.

I'm sure you will get in! When are you applying again? For the Fall of 2010? Only reason I ask is because the school is transitioning into a 5 semester program instead of a 6 semester program and so they aren't taking any applications for the Spring 2010 semester. This might make your chances even harder to get in seeing as how there will be twice as many people applying in the fall from not being able to apply in the spring. So make sure you get some good grades and do some volunteering if you have time to earn some extra points! And if you don't get in don't give up because I didn't get accepted my first time applying and look where I am now!

Ya, I was planning either Spring10 or Fall10 depending on how fast I can finish all my science courses this year and if I can get all my hours done for volunteering also. I really appreciate you for the support, I wont give up:). I'll keep trying like you said because I really want this so bad. Thank's for believing in me and keeping me updated on the nursing program, its a good thing they're making it 5 semester's now, are you guys the last batch for the 6 semester?

There will be one more group of 6 semesters this fall but then the following fall it will be a 5 semester program.

Oh ok, do u know if the requirements are still going to be the same? or will there be some slight changes?

I am not 100% sure but I would assume that the requirements are going to be the same.

Oh ok, thanx again for all your help and your quick response!:D

i am in chico. i am liking the classes but since its the first semester its not that exciting yet. i still kinda feel like i am taking more pre-reqs just because we haven't started clinical's or skills labs yet. but you gotta start somewhere i guess! other than my two nursing classes i am taking two upper division ge classes for the major so i am still keeping busy none-the-less! excited about next semester though for sure. :)

hi, i've been following this thread for a while. i just got my acceptance letter for the bsn program at chico for fall 09. how is it generally; are they nice? also, i'm thinking about taking pharmacology for the summer before starting in the fall...is this advisable?

are you guys talking about Chicago state university??

Congrats on being accepted into the program :). Um, unfortunately the first semester kind of sucks. You don't have clinical and one class really has nothing to do with nursing its more of the history and foundation of Nursing. The other class you have to take is really interesting but is supposed to be taken with clinical but because they are shifting to a 5 semester program... you don't get clinical until second semester. I ended up taking two of the upper division classes I had left along with my two nursing classes, but am glad to start clinical next semester! As far as taking pharm.. I wouldn't because we discussed pharm this semester in 283 and then in 3rd semester there is an entire pharm class. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I am looking forward to joining you guys in the fall.

Hi FUTURE_ER_RN. I'm guessing you're in 1st semester right now. Anyways, I was curious.. did they shift to a 5 semester program as of spring 09 or is it just going to switch in Fall 09.. And another thing... if 1st semester is 6 units and 2nd semester is 6 units also... how's that going to work as a 5 semester program... do you know? I was accepted to the program in Fall 08 ... went to school for 2 months but... encounter family emergency and needed to take time off... so I'm going back and starting the program again in Fall 09... I was told they we're shifting to 5 semesters instead of six starting in Fall 09.... but it's really hard to figure out how it all works out w/out having a class schedule and knowing which classes to enroll in until given instructions for the semester coming up. And are you taking NURS 282 and 283 right now? Reason I'm asking is because if enough space... they will try to accelerate me to 2nd semester buy having me take more classes + clinicals... so I just wanted to know what the better option is...
