Is A & P difficult to get into?

Published

I attend Purdue University and had no luck securing a spot in A&P1. Priority is given to upper classmen and then freshmen get leftovers. Looks like I'll be a Sophmore before getting into A&P. Chemistry with lab is also difficult to get into. I guess I'll be nailing down reqs towards my BSN if all else fails. Anybody else experiencing same difficulty?

The squeaky wheel does tend to get the grease, John. ;) Good luck in getting into your classes!

You have my utmost respect...I'd lose my mind if I had to juggle all that!

Whoa, John!

Lots on your plate there kiddo.

Good luck!

I attened a CC, and after A&P 101 filled up, another section was opened since there were so many students that were closed out. Ask your registrar if that's a possibility.

Also, if you are able to add into classes, contact the professor before you attend the first class - there could be a number of people trying to add in, but there will probably be a couple of people that no-show or drop.

Good luck!

I just got closed out of all A&P II sections this past week. I did manage to get into a Nutrition class. My solution: I'm on the waitlist for A&P at the cc I'm already at now, and I'm also registering at another cc that has open A&P sections. That way, I'm assured of a spot *somewhere*.

I am a new pre nursing student. I am taking my pre-reqs. I am a returning 37 year old, working part- time, raising teenagers, with a hubby. The dilamea I have is: Should I take the Into To Anatomy and Physiology or Anatomy 1 then followed by 2. I am going for LPN first then moving on to RN. I need 1 and 2 for RN but I can get into LPN with taking Intro. My thinking is that Intro would be easier for me with not having any Bio background. It would give me a foundation for Anatomy 1 and stiil get me into LPN program. Has anyone any thoughts on Into classes compared to Anatomy 1.

Thanks for any input.

You said you don't have a bio background but have you taken a basic human bio class in the last couple of years?

IMO, I would take A&PI, it's not that bad

Mad -- I didn't have any bio either except the one class from high school eons ago before taking A / P I. I'm doing real well in it now (done next Wednesday).

Please don't underestimate this class though. It can be a real killer. We started out with around 25 students. Fast forward to mid-term, and we were down to 13!
