Hello all! I just wanted to start a topic for those of us applying to the 2014 ADN program at IRSC. I am so excited to finish my prerequisites and apply! LetsAll compare our application processes and wait to hear back from the program together! My names is Emily and I am taking a&p1 and micro this summer, then taking the NLN in August and submitting my app!
Tell me about yourself !
My scores still don't show but Juliana said they wouldn't and I just need to wait for the email. As far as work, I'm not sure yet. My work is really flexible, so that's good. I'll see how often we have classes & then decide. Kim, we don't have family here either, so it's hard with our daughter, but my husband knows that he is responsible for her on clinical days. That's why I like the online option. From what I heard you can go to every lecture but don' t get penalized for missing it because you can listen online. You have to go to lab, clinical and exams. If that is true I will definitely choose that option. I am planning on attending all the classes, but in case my daughter gets sick at least I can miss a class.
Do you guys think we can expect emails this week? Last semester the application deadline was April 4th and everyone received their letters on the 17th, that is only 13 days later. I know we were told 6-8 weeks, but maybe we would hear back in 4 weeks. Just so anxious to know. November 15th for the orientation just seems so far away and leaves us with less than a month before this semester ends to get all the physicals, vaccinations, criminal background check, drug testing and cpr done, especially with the holidays close by as well. I just want to know so that I can plan my Christmas vacation. We are going to Germany and I want to be able to leave as soon as the semester finishes. I plan on taking my daughter out early and go for at least 2 weeks, but I want to make sure that I have enough time to get everything done and handed in.
I know Kim. I've been checking my email everyday since the deadline. I only skip the weekend. :) I think even though they changed the deadline last semester doesn't change the amount of work they have to do to figure out who gets accepted and who doesn't. So maybe we'll know sooner rather than later.
I have my suspicions that we will find out in about 4 weeks. I think finding out around 2 weeks is a bit soon since they did not have any special circumstances to consider and due to the computer system acting funny it may take them longer because they have to recheck each student. I think in 4-6 weeks we will all be posting our status. Good luck to everyone and I hope to meet all of you in the future!!
We have study group in Vero sometimes. We all have kids so they play while we study!! Message me [email protected] Ill let you know next time :-)

No. It stresses me out to not have a plan in place. My hubby works 24 shifts on the fire department and we have NO family in town to rely on to help with the kids. I work 3 days a week right now, but quitting that would really hurt. My saving grace is selling Origami Owl. In-home parties are flexible and I make about $40 by the time I average it out, so, as long as I can keep booking shows, it'll be doable. Fingers crossed!
