IRSC Spring 2017 Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone,

I plan on applying to IRSC's Nursing program for Spring 2017, and thought I would create this thread for us to talk about the application process! I was wondering if anyone knew the best way to study for the NLN? I keep seeing that they're updating the exam on IRSC's website, so I'm not sure if I should use the current study materials? Also has anyone had troubles figuring out transfer credits? I will have a BS from FSU and the courses that I've taken for A&P and Microbio have different course codes than the ones IRSC offers.

Good luck to everyone who plans on applying! Hopefully this thread can be as helpful as the last few semesters' threads have been.

Honestly, i took mine yesterday and ran out of time. Its 40 mins for the passages AND the vocab together. So you have to finish reading and answering the questions and have vocabulary and everything in only 40 mins, it messed upmy score BADLY. :crying2:

What was your score if you don't mind me asking?

yeah the whole reading section was 40 minutes total, 9 reading blocks and once you finish that the left over time from that you use to answer the 30 vocab words. it's a lot honestly.

That's really unfair and very ridiculous. And I called the testing center and I guess the tests had a glitch where the clock would keep resetting after each reading passage I guess that didn't happen on your test. Where the reading passages like the practice tests reading passages long and full of detail or where they a little bit more simple ?? Because I don't know how they expect ppl to finish all that and be able to answer each question.

I took my exam yesterday too, at problem #30 in the Math section I ran out of time too. I did great in the other sections. Not so good in that one. I was so upset.

man this is insane if those passages are anything like the ones in the study guide then 40 minutes is not enough time to read and answer questions and do the verbal ***. I wonder if unanswerd questions count against your score or are they just concern about our accuracy

Un answered questions DEFINATELY count against the score, i got 35% on reading because of that. I was expecting to get more time but Nooooooooooo, all wrong :/, i got 110 composite,. But i still have a good chance bc apparently if youre an lpn and have the minimum score and all the requirements, you get automatically accepted, so yeah watch your time WISELY.

So pretty everyone who took their exam got way more time then people this week because of the glitch???

ok i just got back my score and i got an 122 composite score . my total now adds up to 150

so i'm a bit confused if they're only gonna gives us 40 min. are the passages long and detailed or short and simple or a combo of both? uhhhh anybody else testing on the 15th on here because i'm freaking out just a bit

congratssss!!! your score looks pretty solid.

Took the test yesterday, got a 150 composite. Total score 165 with A&P 1 points.
