IRSC Fall 2014 Hopefuls!

Hey everyone! I know this is super early to be talking about the fall semester but I just got my denial letter for the Spring 2014 semester so I wanted to make this group for anyone that's applying or didn't make it in like me. I got a 109 score on my NLN exam which makes my total points for program 130. I took A&P I & Micro which accounts for my points. I would like to retake the NLN in 6 months & hopefully I can do much better. I'm currently enrolled in A&P II & plan on just studying my butt off for the nln in the process. Classes I have left before I'm done with all my "pre-requisites" are A&P II (which I'm currently in), Chemistry, and Nutrition. (which I plan on taking those in spring/summer). Maybe we can get a study group together eventually if anyone is interested! Best of luck to everyone! :)

I don't remember hearing them say that, I thought it was only for our 1 on 1 pre-advisement meeting ?

Yeah I believe they said dress professionally for both this meeting today and our advisor meeting

Just a quick heads up for everyone. Mickeys uniform shop on us 1 gives 30% discount to irsc students. Just bought some scrubs. They had a lot of choices some actually quite nice looking (for scrubs anyway).

I am working on my immunization list. Do we have to have a titer done for each or just the date and proof of vaccination? I am having my MMR done again today and am not sure if I will still need the blood test too. I'd hate to get kicked out over a technicality.

I wonder how many of the LPN's/Medics got to do the advanced placement..that frees up more spots for alternates

annasmum, if you have proof of 2 MMR's you don't need to get the titer.

Nope but I saw quite a few people get in the line for the advanced placement

So I'm sure I'm not the only alternate who's been checking my email like crazy..I've also been looking closely at the previous semester blogs and looking at Fall 2012 semester, alternates started finding out 5/2 that they were accepted, so now I'm really freaking out!

Also, since I'm an alternate and advised to not buy books/uniforms, if anyone gets their books and starts on the homework problems, is there anyway someone could email me pictures of the problems?

I'd hate to get accepted last minute and have to worry about doing all of those problems the first week of class. I'd rather get it out of the way ASAP!

I just ordered all 3 of the required books on amazon, 145 bucks. I'll email you pics of the pages we have to do in 2-3 weeks when it gets here :)
