IRSC Fall 2014 Hopefuls!

Hey everyone! I know this is super early to be talking about the fall semester but I just got my denial letter for the Spring 2014 semester so I wanted to make this group for anyone that's applying or didn't make it in like me. I got a 109 score on my NLN exam which makes my total points for program 130. I took A&P I & Micro which accounts for my points. I would like to retake the NLN in 6 months & hopefully I can do much better. I'm currently enrolled in A&P II & plan on just studying my butt off for the nln in the process. Classes I have left before I'm done with all my "pre-requisites" are A&P II (which I'm currently in), Chemistry, and Nutrition. (which I plan on taking those in spring/summer). Maybe we can get a study group together eventually if anyone is interested! Best of luck to everyone! :)

I talked the the nurse practitioner at my work, she said you don't have to get the third again. The hep surface antibody test is blood draw and test to see if you're immune to hep B. So I'm just going to do my blood draw at work then send it to Quest. Then I'll be getting my TDAP and TB somewhere else lol

Also our CPR class can be done in July, right?

FYI the Tdap doesn't hurt at allll when they first do it, but the next day or two your arm will be really sore

So use the arm you don't write with!

And massage the spot before it starts hurting..it'll help

Yeah anytime after June 1 so that it's valid for the whole 2 year course

I called quest and they do they antibody surface test w/ reflex for 84.36. Lab corp has a automated phone so I'm not sure if they do it and if it's cheaper or not.

Has any one else printed out the health science handbook and nursing program handbook? I think the nursing program document has both the health science handbook and nursing packet on one pdf. So just double check before printing. I printed both documents separately not realizing.

I printed it but haven't really gone through it. Is there only one page in each handbook we have to sign ?

I believe so. One page per packet. Is that due on Thursday or August 8th? I'm excited about Thursday!

Jessica, I think we bring the packets to the next meeting just to go over them but the actual signed part isn't due til august. Good luck kimkofke :)

@Sonny6, where are you getting your physical done? I'd like to check on my insurance under your provider because my physician doesn't do the antibody surface test.
