IRSC Fall 2014 Hopefuls!

Published

Hey everyone! I know this is super early to be talking about the fall semester but I just got my denial letter for the Spring 2014 semester so I wanted to make this group for anyone that's applying or didn't make it in like me. I got a 109 score on my NLN exam which makes my total points for program 130. I took A&P I & Micro which accounts for my points. I would like to retake the NLN in 6 months & hopefully I can do much better. I'm currently enrolled in A&P II & plan on just studying my butt off for the nln in the process. Classes I have left before I'm done with all my "pre-requisites" are A&P II (which I'm currently in), Chemistry, and Nutrition. (which I plan on taking those in spring/summer). Maybe we can get a study group together eventually if anyone is interested! Best of luck to everyone! :)

Yeah I called earlier and the woman at the nursing dept said that I should receive another letter. When I asked if they would be sent tonight, she said she was going to try. How many people didn't get a yes, no, or alternative response after the email at 12?

I'm not sure Jessica.

I hope this doesn't mean we have to wait till schools back in...in April! Lol

Just wanted to say to those of you who are alternates to not lose hope! I was an alternate last semester and I go into the program. They usually do not start accepting alternates until you turn in all your paperwork after the second orientation, just go through with a mentality as if you are in the program and get everything that is required of you completed. I am unsure of the number of alternates they choose each semester but I know of at least 8 in my class that got in...some as late as the week before classes started! Good luck, and congrats who all got in!

So is the program 5 days a week or how many days a week is it? I'm excited to find out more!

Currya, What was your score??

& I'm just curious..since you're already in the program, what goes on at the first mandatory meeting? Is it just an info session or do they start collecting paperwork/doing drugs screens and stuff?

If not, when does all that start happening?

thanks!!

And for everyone else....did anyone else get final alternate letters or am I the only one?? Lol

I believe it's 5 days a week and I think they're pretty long days. Congrats everyone can't wait to meet you all & I'll keep my fingers crossed for you colive, you'll most likely get in don't stress !

I think last time it was Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Two days clinical, two days theory. 6:30 to 2:30 clinical days and 8:30-1:30 college days or there abouts.

Mondays are class instruction days, with Friday test days. Tues/thurs are clinical days

Has anyone registered for summer 1 CPR classes?

I heard they recommend doing that during the program so it stays up to date throughout the whole program
