Any idea if the iPhone will run some of these all-PC nursing PDA programs. Being the Mac junkie that I am, if I get a PDA it will have to be the iPhone with all the jazz...unless the programs are not compatible.
It's not out for a few weeks so I am not sure all the details.
What programs do I need for my first year in nursing school?
Thanks all ~ Bridget
for real???, i live in nyc, awww man! i really want that phone!, oh well, i'll have to live without it!!
yeah they interviewed this dude, he set himself up at the front of the line by the apple store on 5th...when are they releasing it?? im waiting for the new lepoard os then im getting my firs macbook. im a total convert. the iphone will have to wait for when im not so poor lol.
I heard Steve Jobs suggested you go to a AT&T/Cingular store to get your iphone since there won't be as much of a line up as the Apple store. My husband is going on a road trip with his friends first, and when he gets back he can get an iphone, hopefully some will still be available.
I went and stood in line at around 2 PM today with my baby and two of my other kids to get the iphone for my husband. He relieved me at about 3:45 after he left work early to watch our son on his last day of basketball camp. I went to an AT&T /Cingular store and I was the 11th person in line. I am really happy my husband will be able to get this phone. The Cingular store only gives out one iphone per customer vs. the Apple stores who have a limit of 2 per customer. We only need one so that is fine with us. I feel bad that I was studying for a big Anatomy test Father's day weekend and he didn't even get a present so this makes up for it big time.
i was just reading about the phone plans for it. If im reading right it says (for example the lowest plan) is 59.99 and it includes web services and all other features at no extra cost??? I know for other companies the data plans are usually in addition to the phone plan??
Am I understanding ATT's plan or have I got it all mixed up?

I think you are correct. I looked at purchasing the iphone myself, but chose to go with a Palm T/X , because of iphones inability to use nursing software.
Here is a website I have found, you might find interesting http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/31534

mysterious_one thanks for the link....I thought the plan was a good one too thats why i was unsure of what I was reading when I first saw the plan set up on ATT. I have a blackberry though T-Mobile and I have no data plan cause it was like another 20 bucks or more, i'd have been paying damn near 80 bucks for my service, so i figure i'd pass.
You know the ipone is gonna be one of oprah's favorate things this year LOL. Thats why i got the model blackberry I got, it was oprah's favorate thing like 2 yrs ago or something, I got it the week of the NYC blackout. Anyway, I wish I had the money for the iphone, but oh well...
I'd have to agree with the person who mentioned they never buy the first generation of anything...the iPhone will only get better and better, in my opinion, I'd rather wait to invest in one.
But...I'm still not too sure about that touch screen. My fiance, who's a total mac addict (between us, we own 4 ipods and an iBook)
is kinda interested in the iPhone but is still lusting after the blackberry curve. For myself tho, I'm holding out for a red blackberry pearl.
OH! Almost forgot...for the most hilarious review of the iPhone, ever, go here: http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=iphone
(be forewarned, there's some pretty crude language on the site, so don't click if you're easily offended!)
I love Macs but my husband is a bonafide Mac Addict. He's trying to convince me to get an iphone and run the skyscape package on it. It's not that I don't want an iphone, who wouldn't:monkeydance:, but along with the first generation issue I'm wondering if we will even be allowed to use iphones on the acute care floor. Since most hospitals probably don't have wireless throughout the building I would have to use Apple's dial up connection through the cell phone function to access the drug guide etc. online. I know it's mostly just a myth that cell phones interfere with tele monitors and such but many hospitals still have a policy of no cell phones allowed on the floor. I know I can just turn the ringer off and hope no one notices my PDA is actually a phone but how long will I be able to keep up the mascarade...??? Anyone tried yet?
I know they make PDA's that aren't phones, but don't many of them also function as cells? Also, I've only seen one iPhone in real life so far, but its owner told me that there are many functions you can access without being online. He described a relative who's an airline pilot and can access many functions while in the air with the phone in "airplane mode" (hopefully not when he should be FLYING the plane, but I'm just relaying a story I heard...).
